Pfeh. I collect CDs, me. I only go for an MP3 purchase if there's no way to obtain the CD. There's just something about having the physical article in your hand.

I just bought me Ocean Color Scene tickets for July!!!
Been wanting to see them for ages and keep missin 'em!
Not this time!!!

Cancelled plans. It's a shame not to see the friend in question because she's not around often - but it means I get to spend a rainy day indoors map making :hrhr:

Also, Maark deserves a medal. He's been the soul of patience with me bombarding him with questions all morning!

I'll take the medal, but my job mainly involves me talking people through legal documents all day so a few questions were easy in comparison! And yeah it's sick and I can't wait for other people to see it in the summer.

Also, I found Sheffield Comicon is a month on after my book launches. Might see if the publisher has anything going on for it.

I met Ann Leckie on Friday and had dinner with her, some co-workers and a Norwegian sci-fi writer. It was AWESOME! Also got my copy of Ancillary Justice signed Posted Image



Also, my newest drawing seems to be well-received, which is a huge relief, since I haven't drawn anything in ages and was afraid I had forgotten everything I'd learned so far :hrhr:

On the subject of the book, I have everything ready to submit in final form now bar the manuscript's final edit, which will take me all of fifteen minutes to format. Pretty chuffed about that.

Had a riding class on the horse I fell off (while jumping) about six months ago. My confidence has slowly been coming back but it's a long haul process. Did a five jump course with some really tricky lines and turns in there on her, and it went perfectly. Feels great to have the "I can do this" feeling back :hrhr:

That's pretty brave and admirable to get back on that same horse.

Reminds me of the old adage: A horse's cruelty is matched only by its propensity to love.

Finally moved in with the gf 2 weeks ago. I'm loving it, actually. The apartament is pretty spacious compared to what I rented before on my own, and we've already put quite a bit of our stuff in to make it a small slice of heaven. At least for the next year or so.


Them bills for furniture and other stuff do build up though.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.
