Turns out the whole "Japan is a bit weird" thing is not new...

Slightly NSFW I guess but it made me laugh lots!

I can now officially prove my allergies have not only gotten worse but there are also new ones (grass and rye pollen). That only took more than a year to prove, but hey, getting a prescription for anti-allergy shots with that info took all of five minutes!

And now you can breathe again! Pollen allergy really sucks.

Change of seasons coming up here and that means I get to choose between holdng my breath or getting sick.

Docs think they've found the source of the migraines I've started having, and it's relatively easy to put right. Phew! Also, last day of work this week and very much needed. It's been an utter bitch.

That is good news. Unexplained migraines are the worst. My father has those.

My great-grandmother joined the centenarian club last Thursday looking like she's still in her eighties. She's still very healthy, although that's relative and fragile term when it comes to that age group.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master — that's all.'

My mom's been hospitalized by them occasionally for years and I've inherited them, not as bad but debilitating for days at a time.

Any light to shed?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Got called (to the Bar)

Now my parents can officially be proud of me. W00t

Thanking just about everyone and everything that kept me going for just over 10 years (since I started Undergrad). I'd be remiss if I didn't thank this forum for all the good times when it kept my brain from exploding, and gave me a place to vent when things weren't going as I'd hoped.

Thanks, Malazites. You're the best.

Huzzah! You're officially an asshole part of the problem now! Yaaaaay!

I know it's different in Canada but it's still a hell of an accomplishment, Ment. Great job. Good job!

Congratulations, that's wonderful!

HoosierDaddy - in my case they're almost certain they were caused by the contraceptive pill I was taking. Mine are specifically hemiplegic migraines though (the kind where you get the numbness in the left side of your face and left arm, as well as all the visual disturbance and what have you).

Basically I'm not allowed anywhere near synthetic oestrogen in the future.

Sorry to double post, but....

Forgive the less than brilliant phone photography.... but I was lucky enough to catch one of the last flights of Avro Vulcan XH558. For the unfamiliar, she's an iconic piece of British aerospace engineering and pretty much the most popular plane in our air force history, and she's being retired from flight at the end of the year. Absolutely unforgettable. Posted Image

:p

Seriously though, congratulations. Somehow I don't think you'll end up being one of the problems.

You've achieved the mafia addict's ultimate form and made arguing about guilt and rules into a real life qualification :p.

But seriously, congratulations, that's fantastic!

Finally had some luck and the weather cooperated to let me see the bloodmoon during the eclipse tonight. Was out of my house when the eclipse itself was happening so had to wait til i was home to get my camera and try and get a shot.
Not great, but better than nothing.

Looks like, maybe, that I might be given responsibility for the VW case here. I might be happy. Might be terrified. I don't know.

Multiple parties will be fed to the meat grinder over that deal - but it sounds like you might get to crank the handle. I think you should be happy and terrified at the same time.

I've been hearing that it's a good time to buy a VW
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.
