My best friend. Who is awesome. And also started reading the MBotF recently. And just now she sent me a fanart of Rake & Silchas as elementary school children. Complete with a huge dragon-themed bag of sweets. I'm laughing so hard I'm probably going to get a headache.. :p

Awesome! One of my best friends finished them at Christmas.... so many hours lost in discussion! Posted Image

Discussing MBotF with a friend is the best thing evar! Some hours have gone into that already and since she's only on MoI and I plan to do a reread along her first read when she starts with HoC I see many more hours of awesomeness ahead :D

Friends, eh? An interesting life strategy.

One does all one can to cope.

Also, that thing from yesterday is still making me happy :D

I think me Brood, Stone Monkey and Dag must always annoy Mrs Brood and Mrs Tiste when we start gabbing about Malazan. It's fun!

Making me happy is the mind blowing concert I just went to. Karnivool are immense!

That is freaking awesome. Are they amenable to letting that be posted in the gallery on this site?

The hashtag wars thing on @midnight tonight is FantasyCelebs (examples: John Chaotic Goodman, Simon Peggasus, Gnome Chomsky) and people online weren't going deep nerd enough, so I gave it a go w/ Anomander Drake. Man I crack myself up.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I tried my hand at propagating succulents from their leaves and so far several of my leaves have started to sprout roots. :D

Let us know when they grow sentient, so we can start building underground shelters.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I was just able to only finish half of a thinly sliced lean tender corned beef and rare juicy roast beef covered with coleslaw, sliced tomato, Muenster cheese, and Russian dressing from Perry's Deli here in chicago. The thing is a beast. So much meat and so yummy.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Rewatching the greatest song from the greatest Bollywood movie ever made: (Put the captions on for translation)

If you guys do watch Dil Se, keep in mind that it's a not-subtle allegory for India's dynamic with Kashmir and that the creepiness of that dynamic is intentional.

My last day of being on my own at work! I've been one secretary to six fee earners for the past month since the other lady left, and her replacement starts on Monday. This while I'm still recovering from my op at Christmas.

So happy it's over. It's not been quite as terrible as I imagined and I think I ran on adrenaline for a long time, but this week has really shown the strain a bit.

Better yet, board gaming day tomorrow and the battlefield day at Towton (Wars of the Roses) on Sunday. Posted Image

Eating breakfast in my new apartment is making me happy. Also, last night I went on a date for the first time and that went well, and because I now live downtown I could simply walk home rather than cut it short in order to catch the last train.

More made me chuckle than anything, but we've got friends over for a board gaming day and i've been baking/cooking this morning - and mostly having full on Matrix-style battles with Fiddler to keep him out of the food.
