Though it's well overdue, and absurdly late, today I finally finished the Crippled God, and the entire main series.
Not even sure what to do with my life right now.
But I'm so glad to know how it ended.

Apparently that U2 album that got pushed onto everyone's iclouds was only properly downloaded by 5% of Apple users.

Got a phone call yesterday from a guy I know told me to submit my CV to his company ASAP, luckily I was in the office at the time printing off drawings so ASAP was immediately.
Got an e-mail back within a few minutes asking me when I could start, what was the minimal notice I could give my current employers and where would I be travelling from.
Gave the answers and got a phone call again almost straight away offering me a fantastic job, well above entry level, on a gas plant on the shetland islands.
Slightly bummed I cauliflower hand over the finished project I'm currently running, but it would be finished by now if my boss had gotten me the numbers I required back in June.
Massively bummed my flights to Oslo for my surprise appearance at the Scandinavian meet up are now defunct and lost money
Pretty bummed I'll not be making the Swansea game at Anfield in a few weeks, but my cousin lives in Liverpool and would love to have the ticket so..
But mostly this makes me happy as it's the target I set for this year was to break into the industry, I've been getting offers for a few months but this was this particular companies 3rd time of asking and the job I'm walking into is usually 2 years down the line so I cauliflower say no, they won't offer again, and although I promised I would finish the project I'm on, well, falafels them, my boss hasn't supported me or produced anything I've requested so the jobs further on than it has any right to be at the minute anyway.
in 12 days time I'll be on a plane. whoop!

Well, yes and no,its great money, but they're considered one of the poorer paying companies in the industry, its to get the position offered on my CV then hit a better company for the truly disgusting money, don't get me wrong, its still great money. But I want to feel dirty getting my paycheck

ahahahAHHAHAHAHAh so we beat Germoney in footie 2-0. That's... probably the most surprising thing I've seen in years. So now it was handball, basketball, volleyball win streak against the Reichtangle... and now footie. heh.

I am happy(ish), excited and full of trepidation.
I've had some hearing loss for a while, and it has been slowly getting worse. I've had trouble understanding conversation when there is background noise for 3 years or so (a few people here may have noticed that, if not that was part of the reason I was fairly quiet when we met - I probably didn't know what you were saying half the time). I don't know why I waited so long to address it, though that seems very common for people with hearing loss, but I've gone through the hearing tests, the ENT visits and am having my first hearing aid fitting this Wednesday.
From what I understand it can be a bit of time adapting to hearing aids and adjusting to the amount of noise most people hear, but I am stoked to see what the difference is. Especially so after seeing the results of my hearing tests. Seems I have normal hearing at the low end (up to 500Hz) and then it drops off a cliff to the point where anything at a frequency of 2kHz or higher needs to be 90+ decibels for it to even register for me. At first I was pretty disappointed that my results were that bad, but know I'm just thinking about how cool it will hear those sounds again and really wondering what I have been missing.
