For the record, I am unaware of any hatchetting between us. I just really wanted to say that; if there is some cause for grief between us, I suggest that you talk to your therapist about working yourself up over a bloke halfway across the world whom you ever have any communication with through a forum for a fantasy book series.

Got an interview for tomorrow for a job I'd actually enjoy having. Nice!

Just discovered an insanely brilliant album. Some kind of jazz/psychedelic album from the sixties called "Blood Sweat and Tears" by a band of the same name. Utterly love it!

There are *some* upsides to working other than the money. Firstly, EVERYONE remembers your birthday. And anyone who doesn't remember, has a nice email sitting in their inbox from the admin team to remind them (very awkward if the admin team forgot you, tho...) complete with e-card. So yeah, everyone. Probably more "happy birthdays" received today than any two previous years combined - and it's not actually my birthday until tomorrow! (Saturday, so totally legit)
Secondly: CHOCOLATE. Not only do I get the obligatory block of chocolate of random denomination from "the bank" - i.e. handed over by management - I also seemed to get given a lot of other chocolate by people today. So that was awesome. ^_^

Got the job! Training starts monday. Not the perfect gig, not even by a long shot, but it sure as hell beats being unemployed and broke.

After a month I finally got the damn Internet again. And me and the ole lady moved into our house and it's in full reno mode, tore out 3 walls last week. Plus, found out were having a girl. Gretchen will be here in July. Lastly, my latest house flip sold in 4 days. Money, money, money, money..........MONEEEEY.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Not only did I get this sent to me by my best friend, no, she did so because she first fell in love with the music and THEN realised it's malazan themed, but she's never read any of the novels and only knows of the series because I'm such a fangirl. But the best part was her comment, which was along the lines of 'Say, is it possible that this favourite author of yours managed to write a story that's all about carnage and bloodshed and epic wars but infused with a spark of hope throughout?'

So, making me happy are both the good music and having a best friend that's so smart and generally great.

Went to the Ren Faire, had loads of fun. Went with my brother and nephew (those are two different people, for you Southerners and Aussies) and we watched a bunch of the comedy and music acts. Circa Paleo were particularly good, and their violinist is a babe. Old perv style nerds kept going up front to snap photos of her, but she seemed used to that kind of thing. Also we got lost in a maze for like 20 minutes.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Things worked out between me and Mr Awesome! Turns out he was tired and frustrated, and just really wished I would be happy for him, which I was and wasn't at the same time. He regretted saying it the moment he said it, and has been thinking about it the entire trip. As soon as he came home we had The Talk. He cried (!) because he was terrified he'd ruined everything with that stupid comment, then we talked it all through. And it was good!

Now, I think we're better off than before. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and so on and so forth :p



This makes me happy ^_^









And also all the awesome gifts I got ...
