Things worked out between me and Mr Awesome! ...And also all the awesome gifts I got ...

Was one of those gifts a cheque for his 1/2 of the rent?

Mmm yes, if a girl is sexing a girl, then the only possibility is her being a lesbian. AND she's JUST doing it for the entertainment of straight men!

Mmmhmm.

New laptop. Mr PigDog and I decided to buy an expensive one between us rather than a cheaper one each. It arrived this evening and we were like kids at Christmas opening the boxes. Then we argued for 20mins over what the user name and password should be (I'm not joking) and now it is sweeeeeeet. I know nothing about computers so insisted we got one that was all style over substance. It's the skinniest, most shiny laptop in Christendom.

I don't know if I can even remember, which is why we argued because if I can't have my usual shortlist of combo's then I will forget instantly! Definitely not Malazan related, sorry to disappoint.

I'm heading up to the Smokey Mountains tomorrow for a 2 day bachelor party at a chalet that has foosball and pool tables and is close to some fly-fishing streams I've wanted to fish for years. I bought $250 worth of groceries and am cooking for 20 people - already slow cooking the BBQ pulled pork, have made the burgers, and bought the Brat's. Keg's bought. Liquor's bought. Don't know if anybody's got any weed but I'd say it's a big thumbs up. Hello sweet oblivion. I'll see y'all Sunday evening or Monday afternoon.

Two things. One really bloody epic and the other just down right unexpected.
On Monday, I went to my local arena/music venue to go tout hunting for my niece. Her mother (my sister) wanted to get her a One Direction ticket for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night. However, even though she was willing to pay £100 EACH!!!!!! There was no way she'd get it in time, she also didn't want to unnecessarily excite my niece in case she didn't get one. Hence the offer of my assistance in procuring a ticket.
To cut this already too-long story shorter, I walked up to the box office and asked for 2 tickets. And she gave me them. £30 each. SOLD OUT you say? Apparently not.
So I'm one very popular uncle at the mo.

Secondly, the guy who recently fixed my guitar, rang to tell me he had found a banjo ukulele that I might be interested in.
I went along today to play/view, and its a gem alright.
It's a Hawkes and Sons (1865-1930) soprano banjo euk, and it sounds bloody gorgeous.
So I bought it for £90. Good times.

Add these good newsies to my recent spate of sweet times (new car last week,12 days off work, 5% payrise, and a reduced tax code) and this is shaping up to be best month of the year thus far.
Long may it continue.

But on the down side you had to go through the humiliation of actually buying One Direction tickets. I hope no-one saw you...

It wasn't easy handing over my 'hard' earned cash for those little squirts of piss. You do what you got to do in the name of family.
