I acquired a massive dictionary and thesaurus (for free! and hardcover to boot) and of all the free books I've been acquiring over the last week and a half these two excite me the most don't judge me dammit. I did good at work experience today and I've also caught up with some friends I haven't seen in ages, and talked about some fairly serious stuff that's happened recently, which, while it wasn't exactly pleasant, has been an incredible relief be to able to talk about.

I also had what is probably the most honest, open and heartfelt conversation I've ever had with my mum tonight.

All in all, I'm feeling pretty good at the moment

Just discovered there is a chemical compound called "adamantane" and a class of anti-viral drugs called "adamantanes" which then lead me to discover the reason they called adamantium adamantium - derived from the Greek adamantinos relating to steel or diamond. Well I never.

Yet still I don't know exactly why Adam Ant called himself Adam Ant. Was he adamant or unbreakable?!?

Matador is really keen for me to watch the Avengers movie so we watched the Hulk and Captain America tonight.

The Hulk was shit (yes it was the Norton one).
Captain America was pretty awesome though.

Given that I like Loki and Captain America and the fact that I'm a Ruffalo fan I'm now interested enough to see the Avengers.

This makes me happy because now Matador will stop pestering me about it.

Game of Thrones season 2 soundtrack.

Methinks you should reverse these opinions post-haste!

Am I the only one who REALLY doesn't like that cover of The Rains of Castamere by The National that was in the last episode? (the cast singing it was brilliant though)

What an awfully discordant moment in an otherwise good soundtrack.

Hipster band is too hipster to belong.

QT - The Hulk was crap. Bruce Banner felt like nothing more than a plot device. The only characters with any personality were Tim Roth's character and the actual Hulk. I was only drawn in twice - when Stern became Leader and to laugh at the whole 'Hulk, smash!' line. It was crap. (Three times actually. I liked that the security guard was the Hulk from the tv series).

Edit: It felt like an episode in a tv series. It should have begun with a voice over saying 'Previously on the Incredible Hulk'.

Er...Bruce Banner's character IS a plot device. The Hulk is the star. This is how it's supposed to be.

Note: The Hulk steals the show in AVENGERS. The Hulk, not Banner. Just FYI.

Then the movie sucked for focusing far more on a plot device than it did on the main character

Despite last night being the weirdest night I've had at work, workload-wise, it was probably also one of the more fun times I've had at work (and my work is surprisingly fun, in-between the actual work)! Epic awesome darts skills came into play on the new darts board at break (who can say three bullseyes? I can...) and then a short game of pool in which my infamously unreliable style came through for me and I was actually playing well/looking awesome. Good times were had. Then finished the end-of-work stuff faster than anyone else, and was pretty clean away as the first person able to leave - EXCEPT I went over to gloat with some friends in another team, who then roped me into helping with their extra chores they were on duty for. Sounds stupid right? Except being able to do it with them was actually pretty fun (my new team doesn't have to do that stuff) and we all had a good laugh before leaving together (ironically, after almost everyone else, lol). So, yeah, good night!

Got a call from a friend this morning asking me if I wanted to go and see Boy and Bear tonight, as he had a spare ticket. My response? Hells yes!

5 days off work.
Listening to incredible music really loudly cos everyone else is out of the house.
My entire family is descending on Cardiff this weekend for my brothers parade tomorrow, and I can't wait to see them! I am an excellent host (ask Rodeo!) and I love doing it, so it's going to be sweet!
