The combined powers of caffeine, nicotine, panadol and barroca have finally made me feel capable of facing the next 7 hours of frantic last minute shopping and incredibly grumpy disorganised people

Had two birthdays in the last two days. Last night was a nice little shindig at a karaoke hotel-y place. A long corridor with separate rooms, where you could hire them out. Couches, drinks, microphones, it was pretty durned awesome
Had to lose my dignity several times....Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Rick Astley (to name but a few) but it was nice to just get into the spirit of things and I got to meet new people
I give this birthday a Tau Epsilon! (in-joke)

Best part: whole thing will cost me round $600. and yet in store a similar build would cost me twice as much and come pre-loaded with manufacturer's crap.

Wasn't planning to due to a short time span, but I put up some Christmas lighting in my bedroom just like previous years and I'm enjoying it now.
Got three days off from work after Christmas with only Friday coming in for a stock count.
Our pup is napping in my bed and it feels like she's begging me to jump back in to cuddle for the next hour or so.
Three good reasons to be happy

In consultation with Luci and Shiara, I just ordered what should be a sweet new desktop PC to arrive either just before or just after the new year.
On the downside, if I was in Europe or North America it probably would have only cost half as much. Still, it's a pretty good setup for what I was willing to pay.

You bait, I'll bite
You mean the football where every 15 seconds there's a minute stoppage time because the people on the field and their coaches on the byline need to talk about how they're going to get the next 3 yards of advancement, and where there is no fluidity of play because you can only pass the ball once?
Don't get me wrong, the more I watch American football, the more I like it (college football especially), but it has more stoppage time, far less flexibility and is more repetitive than euro football.
