A very nice Sunday. Kiddo cleared this morning, good conversation with flattering people, very rustic day with lots of relaxing and housecleaning while the wife fixes the electrical system behind our kitchen lights, a new Walking dead episode, and a tasty dinner of Indian food leftovers.

Most impressive. Obi Wan has taught her well.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Week before last: started wearing hot new shoes to work, cue multiple compliments and exclamations about how vertically gifted I am.

Last week: haircut, got it all chopped off into a feminine pixie style - more compliments ensue.

Feels kinda shallow, but hey, if you look good (and are told as much by several people) you tend to feel good too :p

That being said, I suspect my butt has been secretly snacking behind my back :)

Better than having your butt secretly snacking in front of your back. That would be an anatomical horror.

Went to an absolutely delightful coffee shop today. It was a book/coffee shop & it just so happens that the guy who runs it is a huge sci-fi/fantasy nerd and had been a lifelong collector of comic books, and was trying to get rid of tons. I am now proud owner of a bunch of them. Also the food was superb, the tea he sold there was delicious and the cake was divine. It is now my new favourite place in the whole world, and I am definitely going back because all the books are on sale, and the price for the food/drink is exceptionally good!

I know, it seems like I am writing a review, but I was so impressed by the place! If anyone is in Cardiff let me know and I'll let you know where it is! :)

I just passed my driving test! At the tender age of 31. Finally! :)

Time for a celebratory cup of tea and to enjoy the rest of the morning off work.

life, the universe and everything.
besides, just got at least one role playing sessions confirmed over xmas hollies when i'm back home and looks like there's gonna be another one in february when I go back for my daddy's birthday, because our Dungeon Master is travelling back too due to some appointment, which is a weird and wonderfully practical coincidence and an opportunity to get together once more!
Why this makes me so extraordinarily happy: we are six people in different kinds of jobs and relationships over three countries- not easy to find dates anymore but we all cling on to these precious few moments where we sit down (more so than ever, I think!), warm roll our dice, get the character sheets out
, remember the last session (it's dire, we are in some kind of a dungeon with demons as guardians, time's against us, we are all half dead- the story of our party's life). I'm gonna get up a level in the next session too, awesome. It's been ten years in the current constellation, the core has been together for 20 years. Loving it!
but are they worth preserving?
