I got up at 2:30 today, thinking "crap, i've only got 2 and a half hours to study before I have to go to dinner and go to work"
then I popped open my laptop and saw that it was 1:30.

checked my phone, 1:30.

turns out that when I decided to re-set my alarm to give myslef an extra hour of sleep, I instead switched the alarm clock one hour ahead.

so, today, I have gained an hour to study.

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard

Got an A in my first Master's class and will be getting a nice fat reimbursement check from my employer to cover 100% of the cost of the class... now all I have to do is continue to ace all the classes so that at the end I'll have a Master's Degree, a nice raise, and not have shelled out any of my own money...

Studying has been shunted out of my mind temporarily to be replaced by nostalgia'ing like a motherfucker. Reminiscing with a forum friend of eight years ago about the old times, the faint worry that we'll never feel chills down our spine like we did when we played Morrowind for the first time, wondering about other people and where they are now, wondering where the hell the last four years have gone, talking Malazan (he got me into the series) and drinking more single malt whisky than will allow me to continue studying tonight anyway.

Sometimes it's good fun to forget that you have something of a social life now, stop pretending to be well-adjusted and just nerd out.
