Writing term paper. actually, done writing.
now I just need to go thorugh it and splice in footnotes and citations where necessary.
Also, the fact that I plled off an proper all nighter, for the 3rd time this school year. I thought I lost that ability after 3rd year of undergrad (roughly 2 and a half years ago). The fact that I haven't makes me happy.

A dream I had last night.
I dreamt that I met Andre the Giant, and he told me that Superbad was funny, but if they made it again, they should make it more interesting. Then he jumped off of a hanging walkway, grabbed on to a trapeze artists bar and flipped in the air. I don't know what he was thinking because he slammed right into some sort of metal frame and fell to the ground. I ran over, shouting, "No! Don't die Andre!"
Then he got up and stumbled into a big sink full of water, dunking his head into it. I came up to him and grabbed his gigantic head out of the sink and slapped his cheek saying, "Don't die, don't die Andre!" I thought I could here a crowd chanting it along with me. He came to, spluttering and spitting in my face and I felt myself smile. It ended with him continuing to stumble like a drunk and speaking in the Queen's English. Wot wot and all that.

I brought my leather jacket (see bitching thread) and my schoolbag in for repairs. it's gonna cost me 40 bucks, and i'll be able to pick up both on Monday.
on top of which, i no longer have a term paper dealine looming over me.
AND, i get to enjoy the first proper 3 day weekend this semester.
AND, my faculty's indoor footy team was taken off the waiting list and into the league.
it's been a good day.

So I live in an old building from the Austro-Hungarian Empire time - with nice big rooms that are 4 meters tall. Anyway the building has a drain (I hope that's the right word) that is about a meter wide and a meter deep. When it snows this drain really fills up and the lower lair of snow turns to thick ice. When it starts melting, for some reason, instead of the water flowing toward the drainpipe and away, it just sits there and spills into the attic and from there into the neighbor above me and then on my head (this has happened twice already and it sucks when it's raining in your apartment). In order to prevent this I must get up on the roof and into the drain and shovel the snow and ice overboard while someone stands in the street and directs people away so they don't get hit by falling ice (I can either clear it all away or clear about a meter or two starting from the drainpipe and that seems to work).
Anyway the ice was so hard today that my shovel broke. The wood snapped right were it meets the metal head. So I cursed and because I'm stubborn I grabbed the shovel head, got to my knees and began using the thing like a pick-axe against the ice (occasionally stopping to "shovel" it away). This is what I had to do instead of going to play 40k (we only have a place each Saturday from 1 to 6). While I was chipping away with the shovel head, and ice chips were flying all around me, I kept going "Your skull is mine!" because I saw no reason to remain serious when faced with such an absurd situation.
Did I mention I don't like winter .... or heights for that matter yet I was up there. The absurdity never ceases to astound me. For some reason this makes me smile.

Had my first off day in over 3 weeks today and I freaking loved sleeping in till 11 this morning then spent the most day laying on my fat ass and reading Ilium and dong absolutely nothing. LOVED IT. Now I'm watching Texas beat up on Missouri in basketball and getting ready for a 1/2 marathon relay early tomorrow morning.

Anyway, I'm happy because before the holidays draw to a close and we return to school for our dreaded last year, yesterday I got to hang out with my friends at the beach. Just swam, chilled, laughed, had a good time. We've come full circle. I hope that in the punishing months to come I can look back on it and laugh. And that we have many more good times again-hopefully, soon.

Fixed.

How the hell did you get a cold?
BTW thanks for the shit-tins of movies and TV shows - already watched 4 eps of True Blood Season 3.

EDIT: about to spend another evening in Bon Temps.
