Just got back from a week in Devon with two mates. Within 5 minutes of my first pint in Ilfracombe some local nutter starts on me. Tried to be nice and quiet and defuse the situation but he then attacked me. I pushed him away(at no point throwing a punch) he fell over a bar stool and smacked his head on the pool table. I think "shit I'm going down for manslaughter and I've been here five minutes". Luckily a coachload of Bristol City fans had turned up and one of them saw what happened. Nutter survived, the Old Bill carted him off and thanks to the City fans I could enjoy the rest of my week off. I'm a Gooner, but I'll always have a soft spot for Bristol City from now on....

Hooray, survived another PhD progress report meeting.

Now i can calm down a bit and try and sort out things like packing up my gear at my leisure before heading home for Christmas next week.

Had an "end of year" party at work.
they recognized top callers of the month. I was actually top caller for one of our calling pools. New Prospects, meaning people who've been approached maybe once and said no to donating. second hardest pool to call. and, statistically, i've had the best results when calling these people. Makes me happy nknowing that/explains why i've been promoted.

unfortunately all the good free stuff was gone by then, but I got a free t-shirt at least.

also, it's Day 3 of exam review. I've actually managed to get some work done today. now, if i'm capable of ~~getting up before 2 PM~~ focusing tomorrow, i'll be back on schedule for studying!
