Also, was in the uni bookshop today and saw the 10th anniversary GotM edition and DoD in the recommended books section. I was understandably impressed. Although all the Twilight books were above it, which almost ruined it for me.

I blame Brood for their popularity!

I'm gonna make Dag a bit jealous now, I just had a conversation in the papershop with Arthur Bostrom who played Officer Crabtree in the dubiously racist Brit sit com Allo Allo.

I resisted the urge to ask him if he lived locally or was just pissing by.

I just realized that there's a movie adaptation of Startide Rising by David Brin (I think, IMDB won't give me any more information because I'm not a subscriber) in the works for 2012.

I am so excited. It is one of my favorite books ever. SO EXCITED

In further developments to the above post, I have spoken to the venue of the gig (initially to find out if they had a car park nearby cos google maps was being stupid) and he told me the band will likely hang out with fans backstage. Having met them once, I know these guys are really cool and chilled, it will be awesome to meet them again! Maybe get them to sign Themata for me. :band:

This is such a girly thing to say but I'm happy because I got a nice new pair of shoes on double sale! Not only were they 50% off the regular price but then there was an additional 15% off the sale price. Ok, they aren't the Christian Louboutins that I've been fantasizing over for the past few months but hey, new shoes are new shoes and that always makes me happy. :band:

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Last night had an awesome party with the most tasty bourbon-marinated ribs ever. Gonna have to do them more often, even if the washing up is then horrifying.

See, if I had McDonalds for dinner, that would go in the "what's messing with your groove" thread. You Yanks are funny...

What's ironic is that he's Australian...

But virtually every post of his in this thread seems to be about food, so I don't think he really cares about the quality. :band:

You just earned some rep, Mappo, for that rib-tickler. :p

In other good news...it's just nice to be inside and warm while it pours outside.

I learned a new phrase for job application covering letters this week. Apparently "proactive" will no longer do. No! I am now also "a self starter".
