I should add that we've been so busy that my clean laundry is 3 piles, my dining room table is overflowing with things that need to be put away, and my basement isn't organized at all. Yet I'm happy.

Full life. I'm happy for you :)

Yeah that's rad. I had a cheapo metal tube swing set as a kid and had lots of fun, but those massive wood ones with the clubhouse or whatever look like kid heaven.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

For Fathers Day my kids (read: my wife) got me three 27" x 40" frames (not usually cheap or easy to find) to FINALLY house and display my three theatrical LORD OF THE RINGS teaser posters that I bought about 20 years ago (back when Toronto still had a movie poster store). I've never displayed them because: A. We didn't have the space t the old Condo and B. I wasn't about to put tacks through them and they are too heavy for museum putty, and 27 x 40 frames have always been nonsensically expensive compared to 24 x 36. But lo and behold Michaels (craft store in Canada) was having a deal on them, so the normally $50+tax EACH that they cost, was halved so she found me three for $75 total. A steal.

Anyways, it will be nice to finally get them up....they've been rolled in a protective cardboard tube since the early noughts.

Deepseek is actually proving extremely helpful for learning rigorous advanced mathematics. (Not just the formulas, that is, but the proofs demonstrating their logical validity.)

So much better than Google search.

Granted, that's partly because of the enshittification of search. And it's made occasional errors (including at least one simple algebra error), so I've had to check its logic carefully. But since the latest update it's made very few errors. Probably a lower error rate than the average math textbook (which even in ebook form tend to be shockingly full of errors...).

If the justification behind a step isn't clear, you can ask it to explain its reasoning and it will do so clearly and (most of the time) correctly (and even when it's made errors, most of them have been minor and easily corrected). I'd imagine it's comparable to hiring a math professor as your personal tutor. Available at all hours of whenever. For free. (For now, at least...)

Just a one more thing before I sign out. In January I got to experience a lifelong dream! I ll post pics if I still remember how. That dream was to see moonlight(unfortunately not full but still) on a snow covered ground. With it all came my areas very 1st….blizzard warning. I’ve never seen anything like it before but it was fucking jamazing as all fuck! 8 inches of snow. Complete mindfuck to see in person. 6F lows killed our new satsuma trees though. That was so pleasant to be out in under multiple layers since there was no wind. I walked all over the hood on snow covered roads at 4am enjoying every single second. I would not go out in the 2021 cold snap of 15F cause the wind was like cold knives, this 6F was heaven. Dog went apeshit playing in it during daylight when it was falling but each sundown was a struggle for him after about 2 minutes. Lots of limping any longer than that in it. Skinny legs.

Let’s see I think I have to spoiler and img brackets hope this works.

Oh well I tried. I tried to get my shadow in moonlight fist pump pic but I can’t get it unerror. Sorry for the big size I can’t get the spoiler shit to stick it inside.

I’m outtie 5 thougty. Duces.

Spoiler

Deepseek saved me from the evil humans again.

Stupid MIT official course notes had a major typo that had me trying to prove something that wasn't true (greater than instead of greater than or equal to). Deepseek provided a counterexample that I could easily verify. And proving greater than or equal to was trivial.

Managed to make it out camping for the long weekend despite being on crutches. My wife had to do a lot of what I normally do to pack and cook and stuff but we made it work. Ankle is slowly improving. Maybe would be faster if I didn’t go camping but what can you do.

When it comes to soft tissue injuries like sprains and strains, red light therapy may both promote healing and offer pain relief as well.

"A small study showed that ankle sprains treated with light therapy had less swelling at 24, 48, and 72 hours compared to rest, ice, compression, [and] elevation," noted Dr. Caitlyn Mooney, a sports medicine physician at University Medicine Associates in San Antonio, Texas and member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

"Another small study showed people treated with light therapy returned to full weight bearing earlier after ankle sprain," she added.

Lots of clinical grade red light therapy devices on sale for Amazon's Prime Day (which now lasts for four days... Earth days, that is).

Ha! I have this on a T-shirt and wore it when I went to the Tall Ships festival; the navy guys and a few others commented on how awesome it was. LOL
