The wife’s family is over for a few days around Thanksgiving. I’m extremely lucky that I get along so well with my in laws.

Pecan pie for breakfast!!

What a nice thing to do and read.

Sweet dreams are made of these.

I'm about to go on a surprise mini vacation with the lady I'm seeing. She booked us a cabin and a fancy dinner as a birthday gift/us time thing. This lady really has been terrific to be around. We find it easy to put time and energy into the things we do together and the conversation remains top tier several months after meeting.

Landman...tv show..

Made my night,

His green energy is merely alernative energy. A whole generation of people believe its green! Without doing the mental math on its...costs.

It never (in current form) will offsets its costs to the enviroment. Fools.

Awesome to see a show land on this logic.

Second goal this season. WTF, lol

Tried to tap it gracefully into a basically open net, after out striker did a beautiful thruball from the corner across the goal line, past the keeper and the defenders.
But the momentum meant I ended up smashing full-tilt into the post and tipping the net backwards. My teammates were joking it's a wonder I didn't dent it.

So now, 2 days later, I got some bruising around the right elbow.

Still, I gotta say I am feeling in much better shape. On Wed I was late getting to the pool, so had to skip the warm-up. Did 2.25 klicks of continuous front crawl in just under an hour, and felt surprisingly okay after that.

Think I might be finally shedding the lockdown weight a bit. Haven't felt this light and agile in a pretty long time.

Oh yeah, we've got central heating. And an upgrade to the 21st century in the form of instant hot water. What a day!

We take possession of the House today! Huzzah! It's been a long road, but we are almost there. Painter is coming in tomorrow for 4 days to get rid of the popcorn/stucco ceiling on the main floor (it doesn't bother me, but my wife hates it and wants it gone before we move in), and then they will spend 2.5 more days painting the whole house (colours we picked out). Our movers move the majority of our stuff there Monday, and we will live out of suitcases at my Father-in-Laws hose downtown Toronto so my kids can finish the term at school, and then we will move properly into the house around the 20th.

Also, while it was a no-go on naming the House "The Castle at the Lantern Waste" from Narnia, I have met much less resistance from the wife on naming it "Year-Dancing House" as my wife finds that poetic...and no I don't have to tell her its the name of the Sithi clan from Tad Williams Osten Ard books....that might spoil the whole thing. You gotta ease your spouses into nerdy stuff or you'll frighten them off.

Anyways, exciting days. Sad to leave the condo after 15 years (25 for may wife), but I'm ready to move to the quiet and the suburbs.

Latest update on the weight loss saga. I hit 200 last year right before Christmas, ballooned up to 275, but got back down to 200 again. I was on holiday last week so am a bit up, but I have somehow figured out how to stop the binge and get back to normal restricted eating. That was always the problem, once I started going I would go for months, hence the 75 pound swing.

I don’t think I can drop that kind of weight again, so I’m not going to make myself. This is the third time I’ve broke under 200 since dropping from 360, and I think it might stick this time. Christmas I’m going to my parents so there will be some weight gain there, but for once I’m confident that I am going to come back home and go back to normal and be fine. I hope.

Sounds like a good idea! House came with a home theatre (projector and screen) in the basement, so maybe a movie to boot!

My mum surprised me at the weekend by saying she's listened to some songs from Hamilton and really enjoyed it. This is the woman who professes to hate modern musicals.

We had this with Six, too. She couldn't stand it and then listened to some and decided she wanted to come see it (which she now has, and loved it).

Managed to get tickets to one of the mid-week matinees for Hamilton in Bradford in January. She's so excited! :)
