Congratulations! Now comes the decision every parent of twins must face: whether to raise them spooky or sweet.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I mean, one of each surely?
Thank you all. It's been a bizarre day. They're both doing well and so is my wife but it's weird that we were in hospital having just gone through all that and yet not able to hold them or anything. I know it's for the best and will be very worth it but it's emotionally draining! Still, very happy!

Congratulations Tiste. I hope you have both got to hold them by now and everyone is well.

Well, at 33 weeks 5 days our twin girls have arrived! They have to stay in NICU due to their prematurity so right now we're just at hospital waiting for all the bits to be sorted but my wife has been amazing and delivered naturally which we weren't sure would happen with twins.
Very excited, even though we won't be taking them home for a while...

I finally pulled the trigger to do something nice for ME in a long time, and booked a weekend to Seattle! I will definitely want recommendations as I’ve never been!

I hear they have this little coffee place called Starbucks there, might be worth checking out?

One week into having twins and they're both doing really well! Both still at hospital but we're visiting every day, we get to hold them for looking periods of time and they're both beginning to latch and feed. They're only in for growing/learning to feed - no medical concerns at all.

Oh yeah, I'm really jazzed up for the James Webb Space Telescope launch tomorrow (Dec. 24/Xmas Eve). But man I'm also worried something will go wrong because there are a lot of steps and moving parts that have to be executed to get it functioning.

[EDIT] huh, launch got moved to Christmas day.

Treated myself to a new keyboard over the holidays, so today once I'm done the pre-xmass cleanup I'll get to finally tinker around with that.
More broadly, having another 5 days off before I need to go back to work makes me happy.

We're taking the kid to a monster truck show tomorrow. I can't wait! I'm so relieved I have a child who wants to do traditional boy things. There was a video from school before Christmas of the kids making masks. The girls had all made their masks look like cats and they were doing this thing where they pretended to lick their paws. It was so creepy, they're only 5. The boys masks were a load of shit but they were all jumping around happy as larry. I would totally rather be a boy so I'm living my boy life and going to a Hot Wheels Monster Truck show tomorrow.

4-0, would have been 5-0 but for the rain in Sydney and an overly-cautious declaration (isn't hindsight wonderful?
).
But wow, that last collapse after being 0-68 then all out for 124, chasing only 271 for victory after our guys collapsed in the second innings due to some great hostile fast bowling from Wood.
I actually felt sad for Joe Root, who tried his best and kept facing the music with dignity and Mark Wood, who bowled his heart out.
Root can't do it all on his own, plus he needs tactical advice from a core of experienced players to help with his woeful tactical decision-making.
Once Wood fixes his delivery stride and crazy foot placement he could be an all-time great fast bowler. If not, I predict serious ankle, knee and lower back injuries, which would be a shame.

Paid off the loan I took out for my apartment today. Feels strange to be debt free but also very liberating. What am I supposed to do with all this money in my bank account all of a sudden?
Now to wait for a bigger apartment in my building to become available, so I can put myself back in debt.
