Mr PigDog and the sprog are away next weekend. It's been tentatively on the cards for a while but officially confirmed today at 3 whole nights away. I haven't been alone in the house during non-work time for more than a couple of hours since Spring 2019 I think.
Holy sweet frickin jesus. If anything stops this happening I'm going to have a psychological meltdown.

Ah jeez Mez, don't you know you just put the mockers on yourself? Your work will have some sort of lasminute.com emergency and of course only SuperMez can save the day.
I hope I'm wrong though and you have great old time:

High wind is the pits and I don't like it at all. We even had tornado warnings on the far eastern counties yesterday. But driving by a reservoir when the wind is blowing and seeing the whitecaps is kind of magical. Especially when you are driving in from above down into the valley and it opens up, and the sun is at the perfect angle to maximize the light reflecting off them.

My football team finally managed to get promoted again after 4 years on the second tier of Dutch football! Damn I am elated.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Expected wait times between the first and second Covid vaccine shot were cut from 16 weeks to 8 weeks here today. That would make the start of August two weeks after my second shot. Providing that holds, that would open up all sorts of summer activities and events that were looking out of question previously. After a no-fun summer last year, that really gives me something to look forward to now.

It's happened! They are not at their destination yet but they have left and are closer to the destination than home at this point so they can't come back tonight! I worked until 7.30pm finishing a bastard of a project and now blissful solitude awaits until Monday (I hope)!

Had a realtor over to reevaluate my flat. Despite the housing-market in Stockholm being a nightmare it seems girlfriend and I have a shot at upgrading to a three-room-flat come autumn. A home office (or just separate kitchen) would really help our quality of life after a year of both of us working from home.

We've just done the exact same thing in Oslo. I can't wait to have a dedicated home office room.

So my Granda died like 18/19 years ago.
There's plenty of photos of him about, and great anecdotes and stories, he was a character.
But he lived in a time before camera phones in everyone's hands and even video cameras being that big of a deal.
Now I don't know if this was known and forgotten about or not commonly known, but he did a tiny interview for Irish television in 1965, on the subject of farming naturally.
Someone really randomly came across this in some kind of digital archive and shared it with the family.
I nearly cried

Aww yeah, that would have been a lovely thing to come across for the memories of the man.
