Loki - look for the mycelial network once you find a tardigrade.

Less than a month to cochlear implant surgery. Counting down the days now.

Good luck with it! I hope it exceeds your expectations.

I'm happy with the new microscope we picked up today. It's a pretty decent student one with digital recording software and a rechargeable battery for use in the field. Plus, we paid a third of the recommended retail price and I always love a good bargin.

The boy and I are going to go on a tardigrade hunt tomorrow.

Thanks, at this point I am staying cautiously optimistic about the results.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Why the hell did they have it in the middle of the week and during the day? Not cool! If anyone can present me proof that an NFL regular season game (has to be during regular season) has been played on a Wednesday prior to today's Ravens/Steelers game, I'll buy you a PS5. DM me with the specifics. If it checks out, the PS5 is yours.

My groove is chiefly messed with these days (see elsethread) BUT as of today, I have lost ten kilos. Nyarharhar.

Also love my new job. Yesterday, everyone spent half an hour trying to catch the boss's dog in the woods who in turn was having the time of his life thinking we wanted to play.

I used my vacation days strategically.

24-26 are holidays
So are the 31-1st

Didn't have any saturday shifts, so using 11 vacation days I've wrangled 23 days off. I love working for the city.

I preface this by saying we get 24 Dec - 1 Jan off for free.

I was originally going to take 19 Dec - 13 Jan off.

Then we got told to be back on deck 11 Jan. But we needed people to stay until 23 Dec. So I changed to 24 Dec - 10 Jan.

Then we got told nope, it's all good, you can come back on Jan 18. So I changed to 24 Dec - 17 Jan.

Then I get my leave denied because I'm not using enough and I was straight up told to take from 12 Dec because I have so much leave saved up (about 33 days at time of writing, this doesn't even include my 3 months 27 days Long Service Leave).

So now I have 12 Dec - 17 Jan off.

WTF am I going to do?

Do what I do. Lie on the couch and do nothing. Read, play games, ingest too many calories and act as a heating pad for the cat
