I got a £30 amazon gift voucher for my birthday back in August from a very good friend, and I am plotting how to spend it. Gathering Storm and Best Served Cold, I'm thinking, and then I'll still have £10 left over!
Ahaha, Retribution Falls, Best Served Cold and Orbus will soon be on their way to me, for a total cost of zero. Brilliant

Nice Broody, free stuff is always more enjoyable (see: food.
). I went charity shop browsing today and bought a bunch of novels. If one or two of them are good I will be happy cos none of them was over £2. One of them was Feersum Enjin by Iain M Banks and I love him so I am looking forward to reading that one.

I'm not sure anyone has ever looked forward to reading Feersum Endjinn... it's ludicrously confusing. But good luck!

Well like I said Iain M Banks is great and one of my favourite authors so I think I might take it for Christmas reading: Long cold days with not much else going on, stick on some great music and only appear for food.

When are you seeing them? I know Slayer just delayed their Halifax show (Nov 9th) due to health issues so if your concert is anywhere near that time you might want to double check.
Well yep.
They've delayed.
Don't know till when.
But I have a feeling it'll be a day I won't be able to go.

Weee, Monsieur PigDog got us tickets to see Green Day. Although I will probably have forgotten I like them by the time summer 2010 comes around.

Fucking Hell, Green Day are they still alive, I went to my first Green Day gig at the Apollo in 1995. Was awesome. Please tell me it's not in an arena.

Yeah, but I'd seen Metallica in an arena and they sucked souless, sell-out cowboy metal ass. That's why.
I'm sure they'll be great, tell me you aren't sitting though.

Are you trying to live vicariously through Mezla for all the times you've sat down during a concert?

What and odd little bunny you are DW.
I've only once sat down at a concert, that was the Manic Street Prechers at the Nynex Arena in 1998 and I swore I'd never do it again. Also they did an encore...I was appalled, and I've never seen them or bought one of their records since, fortunately they've all been shit since 1996 so I haven't missed anything.

I'm not telling you nuffin! You will only say you did it better in 1994

Interestingly, I have only ever seen the Manic's post-1998 and they have never done an encore. Maybe the break was actually you falling asleep because you were sat down?

I promise you they did one, it was the This is my Truth Tour , I'd seen them 3 times before and they had always finished with 'you love us' and left the stage, I'd always regarded it as a badge of honour as a true (pre-mainstream) Manics fan that I knew they didn't do encores and left, and as we got to the door we heard them come back on and start.
I've heard people since claim it wasn't an encore, it was planned, but leaving the stage and coming back on is an encore as far as I'm concerned, despite the fact they claim not to do them.
Twats.
