I agree with Mezla whole heartedly.

The whole situation is hard, but being there for your kids and not grousing at them for whatever fuck ups they do is really crucial here. This is clear from the weird answers, their desire to stay more with you etc. They're really uncertain and uncomfortable.

It shouldn't be on the kids to keep you informed as to when their mother gets out of jail (a day and time which might actually move around a bit). You should be speaking to the step parent yourself to coordinate things. Probably a hard talk to have, but it leaves everyone on similar pages and with less stress.

Yah...I kinda get why if you're furious with your ex it might seem better to ask the kids, just so you don't have a blow-up...but it very much seems like she, at least, doesn't mind using them as middle-men in a sneakier way (IIRC weren't the kids asked to lie or keep it secret when the whole fire thing first happened? Or did I imagine that?). Anyway you gotta remove them from the middle for their sakes regardless of what the ex asks of them. It's just not fair, and it just postpones the inevitable and potentially makes it worse.

new phone just arrived.

Huawei P20 Pro.

I loved my P9, the only reason I had my Lenovo for the last year was because I mangled my P9 when trying to replace a broken screen on my own. Well, I damaged the battery. and then made a hash of replacing the battery. and I wasnt buying a new one when my contract only had 11 months to run.
My Lenovo was actually an ace phone, with a superb battery life, and I have a feeling that'll be something I'll miss. But the camera wasn't great, and this bad boy has a fucking excellent triple leica camera array.

You may need to learn to speak more slowly so the Chinese Govt can understand what you're saying.

Then again, maybe that's the best defence against their spying. Sort of like an Irish 'Windtalker'.
Or in Maccy's case 'Smacktalker'.

After more than a year, it's finally arrived.

Dragon Ball Z Abridged: Episode 60 - Part 1.

And it's worth the fucking wait!

For a free, fan-dub project that has been ongoing for pretty much a decade at this point, it's got real character development, plot, and depth than the original by a country mile...while somehow still using the same exact plot and characters. And this episode is the beginning of the climax of the best plot the original series delivered.
Now, just have to hope that Part 2 drops in less than a year. XD

I have successfully baked bread for the first time. Pumpkin-bread! *nomnomnom* Could use some seeds and stuff next time, but it is otherwise delicious.

Not timely limited to a few years. A lot of jobs in the environmental sector here are contracts for one, two or three years, often directly linked to the duration of a project. Once the project ends you have to find something new.

Oh, yes a permanent position is definitely better than a limited contractual one.

I've set myself a bit of a challenge. My dad and some friends are going to join me (not sure of numbers yet as to whether we'll set our own or go as part of an organised group) but we're going to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, and raise sponsorship for the local charity who provided my trauma counselling and I'm toying with tying it in to one of the bigger mental health ones like Mind, thinking people may be more inclined to donate to an established well known cause than a little regional one, and then just split whatever we raise.

Something the ex constantly threw in my face when my Fibromyalgia was bad was how much he wanted to do walking challenges and things like that "But you won't/can't do stuff like that" - I never tried to stop him. The fact he was cripplingly unfit had a lot more to do with it than my ability to join in, but that's by the by.

Psychologically having a challenge to work to and achieve will be great for me, but I also think there's just that little extra benefit in taking on something you've been told over and over again you're incapable of doing.

Looking to go out next spring/summer, so hopefully we all have plenty of time to get some training in. I'm reasonably fit but could do with getting quite a bit more walking in myself, and I'm probably the fittest of the bunch so far.

I'm genuinely really excited! Posted Image

It's great that you are free forging on and want to assist those who assisted you, bit also, what I have got from you this last while, this will be a huge marker for you over coming physical limitations as well as the implied mental.

I'm all about the multitasking.

Not being a fan of hills, walking or districts I can only offer moral support

I'm torn between horror and amusement.

I've never been one of those guys that can just 'pick up a chick'.

They exist.
Some are total scum who use all.kinds of manipulation and 'game theory' and some are just those horrible bastards that are genuinely unaware that they are the perfect blend of charming and devastatingly handsome.

But anyway.

What I enjoy is people watching.

Tonight Ive struck gold. There is a guitar and two guys trying their heart out with a group of girls so far out of their league it would be a scream if the guys looked vaguely awkwardly aware of it.

As it is, it's borderline tragic?

...can't enforce continental drift because you are on the same tectonic plate.

Or were you looking for something less catchy?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
