I spiced and roasted half a baking tray full of nuts and almonds for tomorrow's D&D session and they're soooo good. Mmh, lime and curry flavour.

Got some fresh ones off this one today. 36".

Forgive me on this one, mobile being a bit screwy. A friend caught a 36 inch fish that we're making into ceviche.

Recently joined a swimming class for exercise. I had no idea swimming could be so refreshing.

I try to swim twice a week. Been doing that for 3 years now.

I'm pretty sure that's the only reason I'm still able to play soccer 2-3 times a week consistently. I've been pushing all my friends to take up the same exercise.

Edit: making me very happy is Germany's last minute win. What a game to watch.

I am trying to go 3-4 times a week, its a bit difficult with my schedule. I really like it so far. I know I am burning a lot of calories as I start feeling really hungry 15 minutes into a 40 minute session.

I’m liking Pilates do some of these. I do Hot based sessions for a hour each.. I will hit 5x week next week.

I had my next to last counselling session yesterday and they have offered to extend me more sessions to unpack the abusive relationship stuff. This sounds like it shouldn't be in the happy thread but, scary aside, I'm feeling quite a calming sense of resolve about it. I've got here, I'm tackling it, I'm being offered the chance to continue. I do not want this level of fear and pain in response to the very idea of a romantic relationship for myself for the rest of my life, and I've got the opportunity to tackle it with a counsellor with whom I am now comfortable and trust. It feels like an up, y'know?

And just for a bit of a pick me up I've now booked one of the mad things for my crazy big 30th holiday next year. Monday 3rd June..... falconry on horseback day! :D

I just got back from Maine! I finished hiking the Appalachain Trail! All 2200 miles! Took me a little longer because of some stress fractures in my foot but I'm so fucking glad to be done with my thru hike. Awesome stuff.

Lord Mayor of Sheffield "bans" Donald Trump from entering the city

Yes, I know he can't technically do it and that The Wotsit in Chief was unlikely to visit anyway.

But still, it's the mayor of my hometown being pretty awesome. 10/10, would city again Posted Image

had our first win today with my weekday team. Last week was our first draw, and the 2 weeks prior were both close-fought losses with minimal score difference.

Feels good that we're leaving the rocky season start (due to poor attendance, starting (or sometimes playing) games under-strength) and climbing on an upward trajectory.

I went ice skating for the first time in my life today.

Only fell on my face once and had a lot of fun overall. Though I will say that braking with skates is a lot harder than one would think it would be.

The new Goldfrapp album is a return to form (I hated their last effort). Like an amped up LAMB. Good stuff.

Getting my bicycle back today after it's been fixed. This should be a good weekend to go riding with the heat wave kinda abating.

After days of brutal Heat Indexes of around 110, we finally get a few gorgeous weekend days. Then back to it on monday!

Whats it called? Last one I got was Tales of Us.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I started Zombies Run 5k this morning. It turns out my logic of "it's not that hot yet" was deeply flawed, but for my first run in two years, adding in the heat and all the stress-related nonsense my joints get up to, I'm really pleased with running eight minutes of the ten minute free form in a nice, if slow, rhythm. Slowly slowly, catchy monkey :D

I have a very far off goal of running a 10k for the charity who have provided my counselling, but it's a long way off and three runs a week for the next eight to hopefully get up to 5k feels like quite enough of a realistic goal for now (that's what the program sets, not me.)

Small steps in the right direction. Happy TRB Posted Image
