I've already knocked two people off of my Christmas shopping list! (Yes, I'm one of those annoying types who finishes all of their shopping way before Christmas.)
I wasn't planning to start quite so early but I saw some things that I knew the recipients would love, and I couldn't pass that up. Seeing as I don't actually have all that many people to shop for anyway, I might actually be done before November ends.

I have my Christmas shopping done already.

My sisters and I agree not to get each other anything.
And it's their turn to sort out the parents, I'll give them money towards whatever they decide is a suitable present.

I've deactivated my Facebook again.

Her name is Luna and she's 5 years old.

My wife and I picked her up last Sunday

Congrats and may you all have wonderful times together.

It's just too easy to sit and scroll.
Through nothing.
I think the idea of it yes is sound, for keeping in touch with people you don't see. But as it exists today? It's a tools for making the world an even stupider place

I took my mom out to a local wine & food fair, for which I had free tickets through work, and the evening turned out to be quite nice. We actually bought a couple bottles of wine to take home. Good stuff ;)

FB has its uses (birthday reminder), as long as it's used in moderation.

Making me happy- first of at least 2 weekends where I don't have to take any work home.

Also, on Mon I get to see a friend from law school who's in town for her friend's wedding, whom I haven't spoken to (aside from extensive use of FB Messenger, speaking of, ;) ) for like 5 years.

Had a good time last evening with the abovementioned friend (as if we never stopped hanging out for 7 years), with only the mildest of hangovers this morning.

I may have (somewhat drunkenly) consented to her making me a tinder profile (like most people I seem to know, she is unduly concerned with my lack of personal life). So we'll see how that goes.

Patton Oswalt married Natty Gann (Meredith Salenger) and the wedding was officiated by Stef from GOONIES (Martha Plimpton)....which is pretty damned cool!

I will investigate and report back! ;)

No undying king of the forest father..... but oh man that was bad.

Though I outright LOATHED that first single...the new Taylor Swift album is...good. It's not 1989 good, but it's very very listenable.

Well... we bought a puppy Wednesday.

This is Emma and she's 7 months old. Right now, she weighs about 50 lbs and is extremely calm and good. Her foster mother guesstimates that she is a German Shepherd/hound mix with some Great Dane thrown in there somewhere.

Okay....

I had some misgivings given how over the top the compliments over Facebook were before - I mean yes, I can accept I'm not The Thing From The Black Lake to look at, but you can definitely massively overdo the saying nice things thing! I did voice that sort of thing makes me a tad uncomfortable and otherwise kept politely changing the subject.

Then on the day, well, the fact I'd mentioned being uncomfortable was even brought up (by him) only to be dismissed with "I'm going to keep giving you compliments" in rather the manner of "because it's the thing to do".

(At which point I think I just about managed to not point out maybe he should get his head out of "The Handbook" and listen to what I'm actually saying.... I think I'd given up by then.)

Largely, there's just nothing endearing about talking to someone who's seemingly poleaxed by your very existence having only known you for five minutes. It's just weird and awkward and not fun. Couple it with unnecessarily finding reasons to touch me - nothing inappropriate but the sort of hand in small of back, hand on shoulder stuff. For no reason at all. Apparently twitching violently away is not hint enough to pack it in.

Other than that, just the general "no spark" and finding him far too full on.

Amph, she's lovely! Posted Image would agree there's definitely some GSD in the mix! I think I may well just go the puppy route!!

Cute pup but I don't understand why people give animal human names. Naming a human is boring due to social conventions but you can go all out with a pet.

I have to agree QT. Apart from that single, the album is good. Really good. I would still rate 1989 and Red above it, but its a very listenable album with some great songs.
