Do you say Zoinks a lot?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I want to know how a 5th grader actually attempted to debate the importance of that subject.

He felt that von Leeuvenhoek's contributions were not as significant as other people who contributed to cell theory, such as Robert Hooke, Robert Brown, Mattias Schleiden, and Theodor Schwann.

As long as you don't say the atom is indivisible or that the space shuttle discovery went to the moon like my 9th and 7th grade science teachers, I'll back you up any time.

One of the points of cell theory I was supposed to teach them is that all cell coem from existing cells. This of course led to a kid trying to draw me into a "where did the first cells come from" creationism debate. Sorry kid, save that oone for your regular teacher.

Interesting.

Yeah, I thought it was pronounced like "row" your boat for a long time... oh well, not really a correct use in American-English anyway.

Also, vodka.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

There is one language, it's called English, we all speak it. There are regional variations in slang, pronunciation and spelling. There is no such thing as US or UK English. Just English.

It's not like the distinction between the versions of Spanish. It's totally acceptable to spell a word in two different ways in the same language, or have two different words for the same thing without having to make such a pointless distinction (fucking Microsoft with their electronic imperialism).

It makes me happy to point out how pointless it is, it's not an anti-US thing, it's an anti-pointless bullshit thing.

And yet, say it here or use it in an academic paper here... not pointless anymore is it? Acceptable there, not here. Unless you think all the academics over there would think it's okay to start taking out the "u"s in humour, colour, and whatever else is spelled that way.

How to tell when using one variation over another... how about distinguishing them by the region in which that variation is being used? Grand idea, that!

Don't you all have concepts like the "Queen's English" anyways? As opposed to less proper forms?

Bah. No more rowing about American-English. Microsoft has settled the issue. :p

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.
