The class I was in had seven people with black belts, one person with a brown belt, and four or five other with lower belts. One of the black belts practiced with me yesterday to show me the ropes and I had neither the agility nor the physical strength to do anything to him that he didn't want me to do. The guy is old enough to be my father- and possibly my grandfather - and he could throw me around like a rag doll.
Then I practiced randori (I think?) with another black belt - a woman I outweighed by at least 40 lbs and she'd done two consecutive rounds of it with other black belts before practicing with me - and got taught a thing or two about agility (and humility).
It was great fun, can't wait until the next session on Tuesday.
I also need to find a way to get lighter on my feet, I felt old and sluggish yesterday.
Try to eat after class, rather than before it. "Sloshing" is not the best thing to experience during reps of throws.
But maybe two hours before, have a light snack that will pep you up for this.
The rest is stuff that will come with time and expertise accumulated.
