Waiting for what ^ he said...and delicious home made tandoori chicken, which is cooking as I type and which smells fab...which is also ridiculously healthy.
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

I jsut realised I don't have to go to work this Monday morning. How could that fact have escaped me? The anticipation is at least 50% of the fun!

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Gary Ablett won the Brownlow Medal, and I am now subsequently $350 richer. Isn't gambling awesome?

Reading the Gamespot forum for their 'Best Videogame Hero Ever' tournament, in particular the exact moment where the fanboys realise that Bub & Bob have been voted through both Master Chief and Sonic the Hedgehog, and is in the process of beating Samus. Their indignant tears are delicious.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Futile protests:

The University of California (~8 campuses) is having a "walk out"tomorrow in protest of budget cuts. It's laughable and pathetic, and not to mention a completely fruitless gesture targeting the wronggroup of administrators. Protests have targeted the highest UCadministrators, while the budget cuts have been from the State. People are dumb, not to mention funding cuts have happened pretty regularly for the last 30 years.

800-900 faculty members statewide have signed on to not work tomorrow and picketwith the students. However, these people have nothing to do with me. There's only one physical science / engineering signatory. And it's a secretary for the Engineering department. So... I'm going to go to class anyway.

There will be picket lines at every major entrance to my campus. I am going to cross every one of them, multiple times, because that's the kind of spiteful misanthrope that I am.

Nice! My school once had a boycott on canteen prices. But the union caved in after assault charges were levelled. ;)

I'm happy because my online connection didn't peg out on me today.

Work has been steady and mostly pleasant. The money crunch is basically over, at least until next summer. Plus, Dr. Luxury Wife is going to start moonlighting, which will be some actual extra cash.

Yesterday i walked into a classroom full of kids. They erupted into cheers, told me i was the best sub ever, and that I had the coolest beard they had ever seen. Cheap warm fuzzy feeling, but I'll take 'em where I can get 'em.
