My new JBL studio monitors just arrived, so I can't wait to get them hooked up.

Grats.

I'm thinking of getting a pair of Magnepan 1.7s. But I'm afraid my Adcom GFA-5500 might not push them well. So then I'd have to get a new(er) amp. And as long as I'm replacing the amp, the Parasound pre is getting a bit long in the tooth.....

That way lies madness.

Found out some info today that may mean a close relative's terminal condition being downgraded to decidedly not so within a fortnight, fuck yeah
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Was just poking about the rest of the boards and came across the couple of notes Erikson left the site in the wake of The Crippled God being finished. He really is a class act Posted Image

An odd thing to be happy about, but my aunt's funeral is on the 10th, which is slap bang in the middle of the time that I'm down on the coast already. Because of that, I can definitely make the funeral (elsewise it's three days away from work and about £70 in petrol to get south and back - 6-7 hour journey and all).

The newest Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell episode. LOVE IT. I'd make a thread about it, but I can never tell if it's just me who's watching it. In any case, it is beautiful.

No spoilers, promise. I'm so happy with the show thus far all I usually could say after the first three episodes was 'OMG, awesome!' Never mind smallish nit-picks.

Have you read the book?

Too late, he doesn't get to sleep again for like 2 years. Congrats Dolmen!

Pfft, if he's lucky.
Finally got my signed copy of Excession back from a mate of mine.
He's only had it for like 2 years, still hasn't read it.
So I will.
