Just run a game of Pathfinder for my friends. It felt good to pick the campaign up again after over half a year.

Won $800 on a jackpot question at my trivia night tonight. Every week they ask a hard question, and if nobody gets it the jackpot goes up by $50 (it hadn't gone off for several months). All my team had left by the end when it was announced, so I figured I'd just have a crack at it. We usually have no hope (one time they asked the flight distance from Sydney to Dallas to the nearest 100 km), but this time I got it right. The question was: 'what was the code name given to Osama bin Laden in the US Navy Seal raid on Abottabad in 2011?' (Answer: Geronimo). Probably fairly easy for my North American brethren, but luckily no one else got it and I took home the cash.
So there's my new graphics card paid for.

So, got an email that my visa application (yes, I plan to go scare the UK with my presence again) has been processed. It took them four days. Last time it took them two weeks. This is only in this thread because I am torn between 'yay' and 'eeeh, why so fast?'. Expect a post in that other thread early next week in case my suspicions come true.
On the other hand, the application process got sleeker this year. They only asked me once for my father's birth date, not at all about my last three places of residence and only twice whether I plan to become a terrorist.. So who knows?

finally ordered Assail, can't stand not being current with the series.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

What are you in the UK for? Working or just gracing us with your presence?

The latter, for now. Getting out of this town and putting some distance for a week or two between me and everything here is much needed. Also, it's becoming a habit and meeting people from this forum and another one is awesome. Also, I'm (definitely) finishing uni in spring and can't say when I'll have the next opportunity to do anything other than look for work. So, basically, I'm just looking for excuses to set my feet on UK soil, because I just like it there

Also, whether I do make it to the Xmas meet-up or not, at the very least I will have taken care of the visa (if I get it). It's valid for six months, so whenever I get around to using it does not matter much.

Though it's well overdue, and absurdly late, today I finally finished the Crippled God, and the entire main series.
Not even sure what to do with my life right now.
But I'm so glad to know how it ended.

Apparently that U2 album that got pushed onto everyone's iclouds was only properly downloaded by 5% of Apple users.
So much for the friends I have who SCREAM at me that U2 are the best band in the world.
I have no idea hwhy this makes me gleefully happy.

Got a phone call yesterday from a guy I know told me to submit my CV to his company ASAP, luckily I was in the office at the time printing off drawings so ASAP was immediately.
Got an e-mail back within a few minutes asking me when I could start, what was the minimal notice I could give my current employers and where would I be travelling from.
Gave the answers and got a phone call again almost straight away offering me a fantastic job, well above entry level, on a gas plant on the shetland islands.
Slightly bummed I cauliflower hand over the finished project I'm currently running, but it would be finished by now if my boss had gotten me the numbers I required back in June.
Massively bummed my flights to Oslo for my surprise appearance at the Scandinavian meet up are now defunct and lost money
Pretty bummed I'll not be making the Swansea game at Anfield in a few weeks, but my cousin lives in Liverpool and would love to have the ticket so..
But mostly this makes me happy as it's the target I set for this year was to break into the industry, I've been getting offers for a few months but this was this particular companies 3rd time of asking and the job I'm walking into is usually 2 years down the line so I cauliflower say no, they won't offer again, and although I promised I would finish the project I'm on, well, falafels them, my boss hasn't supported me or produced anything I've requested so the jobs further on than it has any right to be at the minute anyway.
in 12 days time I'll be on a plane. whoop!

Congrats. I hope it is for plenty of dirty dirty money.
I'm happy because I have nothing that needs to be done today for the first time in 4 weeks so I'm splitting my time between tv, pottering, internet, Emperor of Thorns and staring idly out of the window. And also furom drama, always a treat
