Hah. I've been playing through them again, enjoying it just as much the 3rd time round!

Had an "informal chat" with some potential employers on wednesday, and was very unsure where I stood when i left the meeting (seemed positive but not sure?). The job is to do some video work, but since they haven't really been doing their own video before, they're not sure what's involved (or feasible for one person). And I'm a newbie in this area trying to get a foot in the door anywhere.

So when I left the meeting (with the company PR team), they said they'd get back to me next week sometime, after running it by the people in HR. And it was suggested that I could come along on tuesday to get some general footage and maybe edit it as a little showcase for the HR people as well.

But I just got a phone call asking me to come in on the tuesday instead to meet HR, and I could still do the filming afterwards as a practice anyway if i wanted? The girl seemed really positive allowing for the fact that she doens't sign of on hiring.

Possible film-making job in my home town, with the potential to access/rub shoulders with national and international broadcasters??? Please, please, please.

I'll likely crash the Messing With My Groove thread on tuesday if it all goes wrong, but they seem to want me to do it, otherwise, why not wait until after I sent them the practice edit (for the sake of one day). Fingers crossed.

Oh, and my new lighting kit arrived today, and I managed to get it for just over half the price it would have cost me in Ireland. Bonus.

This is basically what has happened to me. I don't have much coffee, maybe 1-2 cups a day, but the benas are home-ground and I put in no milk and almost no sugar. Instant coffee tastes like spoilt milk now.

Had a long chat with an old friend at his home today, accompanied by a 5 star home cooked lunch. Almost chatted for 5 hours non-stop. Been a long time since I did something like this

Totally snobby about it now! Instant has a really weird taste just missing from fresh beans. Even coffee from a relatively expensive machine at work just doesn't compare.

The bonus now is I get to check out the multitude of different coffee types out there. It seems a bit like wine - the best stuff being from specific regions and crops, and the cheap being blends from heaven knows where.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Might I recommend this website: https://www.happydonkey.co.uk I dunno if they would deliver outside the UK but the coffee is outstanding!

What's making me happy is that I spent a great weekend in Newcastle with family for my Nephews first birthday. I do love the Geordie accent...

You should have called. I could have provided you with EXTRA Geordie twang.

And just to prove I've read all the posts on this page,
Sim you could have went here, it's my regular coffee shop in newcastle.

Dang it that shops looks pretty sweet. Bit further out than where I was & I didn't have time really. Also I knew someone from this forum lived up there but I couldn't remember who! Next time I go to visit my brother/sister-in-law/nephew I'll give you a shout!

If you don't mind me asking, which part of newcastle does he live in? I'm curious.
I bet it's the swanky end.

Yeah that shop is great. It's really old too, been around a long time.
Next time eh?

I stopped remembering my dreams a few years ago. This year I have gone back to a considerably more laid back job and lifestyle and I've started remembering my dreams again. Hurrah. Last night was zombies, the only way to survive was to blend in by pretending to be one yourself. In the end there were more people pretending than were real zombies.......

He lives near Heaton Park just off Heaton Road. I'm guessing that's in the Heaton area? I think he is trying to move somewhere else those - Jedborough or something? I'm not sure. Why would you think it is the swanky end?

I just assume everybody other than me lives in a swanky end. Hehe.
It's a nice student area that, nice park and some sweet little cafés on the Main Street yeah? Only half a mile away. In fact it's very local for me. Yeah I like heaton a lot. But isn't it Jesmond and not Jedburgh he want a to nice to?
It's a VERY nice area Jesmond and just up the road. Expensive. But then all the nice one are aren't they?

Anyway glad you had a nice time.

Erm yeah it might be Jesmond. He is in software development so he can probably afford to live somewhere a bit nicer. Though I don't think the area he lives in is bad at all but I think he wants a bit more space now he has a kid.

My Middle Earth map is coming along nicely - the lettering isn't right, but it's only in for positioning at the moment.

When I sat down a couple of weeks back I was completely daunted by this and didn't think it would come out well at all - pleasantly surprised! Posted Image
