Every time I come across the combining form 'phleb/o' I start laughing like a five year old who just said the word 'boobies'.

I really don't understand, what on earth is "phleb/o"?

I'm glad someone asked. That confused me too.

Why doesn't the civilized world just nuke more people/places/things that cause trouble? The answer will leave you breathless!

Basically, it means 'vein' or 'pertaining to a blood vessel'. But more importantly, it makes funny words - phlebotomist, phlebotomy, phlebitis, phlebothrombosis, etc.

Its meaning isn't funny but for some reason saying it aloud is hilarious. Posted Image

I had to visit the phlebotomists a few times recently when I had that weird virus (that still resists identification ).

Suffice it to say, it was not by choice. Nor was it pleasant by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm HAPPY I'm back to 100% now and hopefully won't need to see them again any time soon.

6 year old HP laptop went south fast as of the last few days, started only intermittently turning on at all.

Decided it was a sign to get a new one. So I'm typing this from my brand new HP Pavilion. It's pretty slick!

Wow. It's rare that someone buys two HP laptops in a row. Must've had better experiences than most, QT. XD

Yeah. I mean they have their issues...but most laptops do. I was happy enough with the previous one (6 years of solid working), so I opted for another.

Original Veruca Salt got back together (Nina and Louise!) and have a new song out.

THIS MAKES ME HAPPIER THAN ANYTHING!

I asked for and recieved a new chair at work, (the one I'd been using since I started here 3 years ago was old, broken and horrible for my back)...so now maybe my TFL won't scream at me all the time.
