Well, a four limbed dragon could very well have talons at the end of the wings. After all it would be much like an arm and all.. Several early birds were built like that for instance.

True, but it would make flying difficult. I think Loric felt a little humiliated as he was dangling down from a claw, on a 'forelimb' rather than a wing.

One of my favourite dragons is in the film 'Dragonslayer...' it doesn't have front legs, but walks bat-like on the floor, using it's wings. When flying, it picks up the magician at the end in one of it's back claws - kind of how I tried to show in my orfantal/kallor pic.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I prefer my dragons 4 4 legged and winged, but I imaginged SE's as more bird like for some reason. 2 legged and winged
It always raises the evolutionary question in my head, especially in worlds that are wholly populated by 4 appendaged animals.

Did a quick 5-minute sketch of the Aptorian demon today, after a post here in the art forum inspired me. This is actually pretty close to how I picture the thing in my head:

Though...looking at it, I think front knee should be reversed. Ah, well.

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

That's what I hear, but not once did I picture it that way.

Heres a sketch by my brother which took him less that ten minutes. and this is only the top half, im going to convince him to look at some of the malazan descriptions from the malazan encyclopedia or whatever site has the descriptions on it, and also look at whats been done here to get a rough idea of what some characters look like. Enjoy.

This is awesome as is all of your brother's artwork! B) You definitely need to get him those malazan character descriptions asap. Plus you need to post some more of his work.
