Almost to the big fight in Coral on a reread and I got to the part where the Moranth, Paran, Quick Ben etc all happen upon some "carrion" in the woods west of the city and it turns out to be a dead Tiste Edur. I've read all the books except TTH, am I just forgetting who this is? Or am I not smoking crack and there no other mention of said bloated corpse?

Ah, nice. Thanks for the reply, it's crazy how SE seriously wasn't BS'ing when he said he had these suckers in his head before he started the first (or second maybe) book.

Btw, is that a guess? I think I remember thinking

i always thought that the body was an early indicater of where moons spawn was hiding (really deep in the water in some kind of cut i forget the name of, where the pressure could crush you)

I thought this because they say his death could have been caused by being pushed through a warren to come out deep in the cut, Then later on when moons spawn rises out of the water someone mentions that it must have come through the cut.

You know, that could have been a clue. Good spotting.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

It had occurred to me too, but I didn't really care. I had a feeling that, despite contrary evidence, Moon's Spawn would rise anyway. You can't just get rid of one of the most badass characters just like that.

I thought exactly the same thing. But, there's something not right here: the body found was Tiste Edur, while Moon's Spawn is home to Tiste Andii.
So, as of MoI, it remains a mystery. Right? (I've just finished MoI a minute ago, and didn't want to read the spoilers :harhar: )

Ok, thanks for the quick reply!

It seems that for 90% of the questions asked here, the only good answer is: Just keep on reading. And there's nothing wrong in that :harhar:

Hehe, kind of like the Jordanesque RAFO. We'll probably never find out who killed Asmodean now Posted Image

As Apt said, it will be awesome when you find out the who, what, how and why of the dead Edur. When I understood who actually did it I grinned for 5 minutes Posted Image

As for the people who believed that the dead Edur was an indicator of of where Moons Spawn was hiding, I just can't buy that MODGOD EDIT FOR HOC SPOILER

Actually it's the twelfth, but yeah. I don't think it'll solve the Asmodean question. Not that it's a big deal anymore. Hopefully the new author (fail to remember his name) wraps the entire series up nicely so we all can move on to more important things. I've spent way too much time on WoT to let it be a dissapointment.

I'm sorry about this derailing. Won't happen again.

Anyrate, when SE hits you with a RAFO, the beauty of it is that, generally, you WILL eventually FO.

I always liked the sheer apparent randomness of the dead Edur.

Actually, yes, we will. He wrote the information down before he died, and Brandon Sanderson, who was hired to complete the last book, has said he knows and the information is going in the last book.
