I'm a comic book newbie but I'm slowly getting into the stuff.
I'm curious to see which powerhouse is favoured by my fellow maniac Malazans.

I always liked Marvel better. I thought they had more realistic characters than DC.

and they are usually not overpowered and can even loose occansionally...

Marvel.
The only DC series I ever liked was Batman.
Everything else was trash.

DC had "Superfriends". I think that should sum DC up.

Marvel for me too. The comics were more gritty, I think. Batman is the coolest DC character, but he aint cool enough to pull it off on his own.
I like the 2000AD comics too. They are pretty hardcore.

I am at best a comic book dilettante... I hate certain things about both DC and Marvel... and like an equal number of things about both.
One thing I DO hate about both universes is how convoluted, retconned, and interminable they are. I mean, I would LOVE to see an insular series (something like the ten volumes of the original Sandman series by Gaiman) where there is a beginning, middle, and end to the story. And no infinite "generations" or deaths and rebirths or crises or parallel universes etc.
Sigh.
So I vote we find Rodeo's pants.

Marvel.... DC uses man or woman in almost all of their hero names...Bat-MAN, Super-MAN, Wonder-WOMAN, etc. etc. At least Marvel is creative.
THIS IS HOW I ROLL BITCHES!!!

Im pleased no-one's picked DC. If anyone does, I shall be forced to smash their senseless brainzzz in with a green lantern, and feed them to Abyss.

Green Lantern has been good as of late, Batman RIP has been interesting.
Superman has been interesting with Johns and Robinson writing him.
Booster Gold is great, Brave and the Bold is interesting (I'll mioss Waid).
Final Crisis, despite Morrison's love for characters no one remembers, is more interesting than Skrulls, I think, and Justice Society of America is one of the best team books going.
DC has a lot going for it, but Marvel generally does win. I read more Marvel, but it's definatly less than it was a year ago.
I'd still say the imprint, or indies put out way better stuff than the mainstream. As good as it all is, the creator owned stuff, can be heads and tails better than the big 2 characters. Mostly since Batman and X-Men will always sell, and for creator owned stuff has to be excellent to sell, especially with price of comics.
Can't way for the Lantern war in GL, though.
And all that said.
I love me my X-Men. Bring back Jean Grey, I miss her. Sigh.

He's a leader, despite a lot of people thinking him a tool, he has for a longtime lead the x-men. Plus, they write him as a really smart guy, and draw him with an awesome six-pack.
I drew a six-pack on myself once. I mis-spelled Budweiser.

New Blue Beetle is awesome, and Sinestro War was the best event since Annihilation the first. Also, Cyclops not only can beat Wolverine effortlessly, but is irresistible to psychic women.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I like Marvel more because it's more realistic but my favourte superhero is Batman and my favourite villain is Joker.

DC has the goddamn Batman, which is pure win, but once you get past that marvel pulls ahead.
