I picked Darkseid. He is the only guy we ve seen in the Superman series who has totally screwed up Superman in more ways than one way multiple times.
Its been really long since i read the comics cause i couldn't carry all of them to Japan but even the animated series does him a lot of justice. The best scene is where he tells Superman in the two parter called Apocalypse Now, " If you will not be my knight you will be my pawn" and then in Legacy he totally makes Superman invade Earth.
Thats freaking awesome.

I voted for Apocalypse and I was torn between him and Galactus and all his planet eating might.

But the "Age of Apocalypse" was possibly the coolest comic spin-off EVER.

You reallly anticipated me with this poll.
Anyway it was between Galactus, Darkseid and Etrigan.
I voted Darkseid and I'm already regretting it.

I'm surprised that you didn't vote for your favourite pal unicron, whose only weakness seemed to have been that pesky amulet thingy, ho hum. I mean his ability to transmute matter, ie the transformation of megatron to galvatron was a trifle underused.

But brood you didn't vote, so would you stake your soul on the devil?!?

Very true, but is he sitting atop the pile? I'm not convinced.

I never heard of Etrigan until now, but I've had a look and he seems to be generally allied to the good guys, sure he's a demon, but that doesn't mean he's all bad, take hellboy for example.

Step right up people. Cast yer vote. If you don't use it you loo- ok you've still got it, but thats beside the point :p

I think we should also consider Mr Mxyzptlk. His magic makes him nearly omnipotent and the only way to stop him is to make him say his name backwards.

To be fair, the devil is a fallen angel, and hence still looks like one, I don't ever remember anything about their ability to change forms, so I'm guessing the usual man type shape with wings. He might have dyed his feathers the colour of blood and added a few tatoos and piercings, but the pitchfork as an accessory...Hmm, might have been okay for the middle ages, but today I reckon he'd probably go for something along the lines of an AK47 (I suppose it can still have a pitchforked bayonet attached, just for the purists).

There's a reason why some characters disappear, the concept is nice, a sort of alternate Loki character who's not all bad, but I can't say I've ever read of him being nearly omnipotent. He's just not governed by a lot of our universes laws or some such thingy.

I choose Deathtoll from the SNES game SoulBlazer. He depleted the entire world of all life without even lifting a finger (he tricked the King to turn everyone into gold or something).

Ultra obscure and very retro, Cool!

Funnily enough its still Darkseid, when all is said and done, (crossover rules permitting).

Note: Unicron in a previous incarnation had almost completely devoured the universe, except one tiny 'spark'. He then fell into a deep slumber. This spark was used by Primus to kick start the universe we exist in now...

Anything that devours universe's (can I pluralize universe?) is hard, really hard, no wonder he has issues with food. If more people gave him some goddamn respect he might go see a specialist.

Galactus did survive the death of his old universe, you know. Mr. Immortal will be doing the same in the current Marvel universe. And Mongul was a ripoff of Thanos was a ripoff of Darkseid. It's quite funny.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
