Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Yes, there are some great Jedi moments, like when a separatist general is waiting for the Clone Army to arrive... He's asking how many Jedi they're sending, so he can defeat them. A hundred? A thousand? No sir. Two... and Anakin and Obi wan ride up.
Also just interesting to note just how keen the Jedi are to get to it... to assign titles like General, to lead troops, to get in and take on armies using all their abilities - totally at odds with what the Jedi are meant to be doing.
Palpatine totally plays them from the start, tapping into their desires to play a more active role, to be on the front line. The force is totally out of balance at that point, weighted the wrong way in favour of the Jedi.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Wow, can't believe I hadn't seen the beginning of the series before - I have the blu ray set, kind of assumed it was all there.
It just looks so damned good... even after Rebels and Resistance. Ahsoka intro was perfect, I just want to watch the whole series again now.

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this but...I just finished the book, Ahsoka by E.K. Johnston. As I've mentioned other places, my daughter and I are both huge Ahsoka Tano fans and we got her the book for Christmas. When she finished, she insisted I read it and I just finished it on Audible. The book overall is nothing too spectacular, but, imo, it is worth the read just for the story of how she ends up with her 2 new white lightsabers. And it bridges the gaps in Ahsoka's story from Order 66 to the origins of Fulcrum. It also introduces the Inquisitors who show up in Rebels, as well. And Ashley Eckstein narrates the book on Audible, which is very pleasant for those who are Ahsoka fans. I wish there was more Ahsoka material out there. Just thought I'd mention it.

Thanks, might have to look up that audible version. The Clone Wars series is very much Ahsokas story; it begins with her being asigned to Anakin, and ends when she leaves the order. And finally we'll get to see what followed on Mandalore with a long awaited conclusion out later this year.
I've been rewatching a few eps, I can't help going back to it - it's the best of SWs and I love putting it on to see what else I missed before.
Really interesting to see Anakin basically doing exactly what Poe does at the beginning of the Last Jedi - leading his squad into an attack, disregarding orders to disengage when things turn bad, and losing his entire squad as a result, only surviving because he's a Jedi in a Jedi starfighter. He learns the same lesson Poe does - it's such a close parallel that Poes arc had to have had its origin in CWs.
Ahsoka also gets carried away in one battle, not looking at the bigger picture, but continuing to fight despite orders to retreat because she thinks she's winning.
Also I forgot that Hera (from Rebels) father features quite prominently in the Ryloth episodes, which also tie in nicely with her backstory and motivation for joining the rebellion.
I've also recently read the Darth Vader comics, the Soule series. In those, the jedi Librarian from Clone Wars has survived order 66, and is on the Emperor's hit-list, as she has information about surviving Jedi children. At one point she pulls a lightsaber and battles the Grand Inquisitor in the library, before Vader intervenes. It was just good to see her again in the Holocron Heist episodes of CWs as a fairly harmless-seeming librarian, when Ahsoka gets assigned there for guard duty.

We're pretty excited that it appears Ahsoka will be featured fairly heavily in these final episodes? And they definitely cover her joining/taking a mission to Mandalore and a confrontation with Maul. That is something that is touched on (via flashback) in the beginning of the Ahsoka book I referenced above. Disney streaming will be getting my $, at least for a while till they start doing their Disney jack ups...AND THEY WILL!

Yeah, this whole thing looked great, but I'm so glad the Maul Vs Ahsoka fight will be in it!

Yep. Everything new on D+ runs week to week. And to be fair, it's a smart way to do business as it keeps current subscribers on the hook.
I also got sick of having to binge an entire season of a popular show on like Netflix in a weekend or risk being spoiled. Stuff like Mando, Picard, Clone Wars ect. running week to week really saves me that trouble and makes my TV watching more spread out and enjoyable.
