I'm trying to work out twitter having never been on it before. What I have found though.. Hidalgo has Darth Revan as his avatar...
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Dammit he already put Palpatine in power and set bad racial stereotypes in sf films back a decade... what more do you want?
For him to be the ultimate evil. Obviously Darth Plagueis in a new body.

There is an early episode of TCW with Jar Jar and Threepio on...Rhodia, I think? (It may even be the one Vengy is talking about....Bombad Jedi perhaps it was called?) And it made me laugh MANY times. So yeah, removed form their usual movie-based nonsense, and inserted like a couple of Charlie Chaplin's into a Clone Wars ep. They CAN be funny.
The answer to your JarJar dreams...

Meesa thinksa you hasa no emotionsah, eh?
But yeah. Kill it with fire.
But yeah. Kill it with fire.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

It's an exceptionally cruel thing to do actually. A character who KIND of already had intelligence issues...is made (by Wendig or whomever made that call) a homeless pariah to his own people (and the galaxy at large) and is dancing around in the streets for pennies (at the age of...what? 60-something?) and the entertainment of kids...all because he covered for his wayward Senator (Padme...who was off having a love fest about sand with Anakin at the time on Lake Cuomo) and made a decision he really didn't understand in her stead, helping grant Palpatine the power he eventually used to create the Empire.
He could have just left him be, or killed him off...this is FAR crueler...and it's not actually (from a narrative standpoint) all that interesting.
It's like Wendig went, "Hey, you know that guy you all hate so much? Well instead of killing him off I'm going to completely humiliate him for a few pages! Aren't I edgy!?"
Fucks sake.

I suspect its a bit of a statement on the prelogy.
But honestly, he was a character included in the first film to sell cereal to toddlers, was roundly ridiculed for it, and as a result used for a borderline silly 'dark purpose' in the second flic and ignored in the third.
This outcome pretty much symbolizes all of that for what little it's worth.

Yeah, but that's my point. For Wendig to POINTEDLY craft an interlude with him (considering his origins and purpose) and basically humiliate him about as far as he can...is not only rank, it's amateurish.
Oh, and I maintain that he was created to be the prequels version of Threepio (AKA the comic relief)...but GL failed to write him well enough to pull that off.

It seems a bit like a pathetic attempt to gain fan favour by giving him some kind of retribution for... what, his inclusion in the SW universe?
I just watched the annoying 'Representative Binks' take down Talzin alongside Windu. He ends up on the streets? Puts me off the book already.

Right!? It's totally pandering on Wendigs part...and that's damned weak.

Indeed. I don't care much for the character either...but this is rank.

Just found this - this guy has come to the same conclusion I did while watching Ghosts of Mortis... but also includes a nicely observed 'trigger' - Palpatine, and Windus death. In GoM Anakin sees Palps using force lightning as he kills Windu, but his memory is messed with by the Father. So when this actually happens right in front of him in RotS, he recalls his visions, and realises that his future has finally come. He then falls to his knees in front of Palps and gives himself over. I quite like this as a theory, it would give a better reason behind his abrupt turn to the dark.

Finished the series this weekend with the episodes i'd skipped in season 1.
There were a few spots where the show was slightly boring, but overall it was awesome.
This is the prequels as they should have been. This was the Anakin Obi-Wan relationship, Anakins slow descent to the Dark Side, and countless other stories we deserved.
I'll let it marinate for awhile then probably start rewatching.
For now, onto Rebels!

I loved CWs, but never saw the 2d movie that started it, until today. Because it looked bad.
First off... Anakin being made Jedi Knight, something I never saw on screen before. Anakins voice is way different, more like the movie version I guess, still a bit petulant and whiny. Also major use of Imperial March with the republic/Clone army, which seemed weird - only place I've seen that done too, the army isn't Imperial at that stage so it seemed a bit pre-emptive.
Animation is basic to say the least... but then Ventress showed up. Got her sabers, then has big duel with Anakin; great pacing and use of rain, and Anakin really letting rip with the rage.
Clone Wars true beginning. It was pretty good actually, but I was expecting Ahsoka to be introduced. Does she first appear in series one of CWs then, already established as Anakins apprentice? I was hoping they'd have how they first met or something. Will have to watch the series again now.

Don't know, I found a Volume One and Two, they end with Palpatine being kidnapped, presumably to continue in Rots.
Just looked it up; there is another Clone Wars animated movie, with the more familiar animation that carries on into the series proper. The 2d one I watched today was aired as mini episodes at some point, and is quite different.
Now there's another movie I haven't seen then, that introduces Ahsoka etc. Don't known how I missed that one.

Yeah, there was a Cone Wars Volume 1 & 2 that came out first 03-05.
The movie that preceded the series came out in 08.
I preferred the first ones. The clone trooper scenes were badass.
