Great cinematography, the acting was good (apart from the 3 main chars)
The problem i see is that this movie just seems to set up the finale...and could not work as a stand alone piece.

It feels like its just a filler for the gap between the last movie and the next one....it...just doesnt work.
Nothing REALLY happens besides a bunch of horny kids going to a magic school... its pretty damn bland.
...┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐...

Why dont they make the whole plane out of that black box stuff?

Going to a magic school...and having one lesson, and one lesson only, btw.

Compared with the books, the plot felt disjointed, pointless, and seemed to happen overnight - you get that a bit with the entire series, actually.

Best part of the movie was Dumbledore's fire spell, imo. Even though it didn't seem to do much (in a real movie we would have seen bodies burning to crisps, the lake steaming, etc).

Still, not a bad movie, and probably a decent interpretation. Just can't say as I felt...connected. *shrug*

Well they are kids books and the films focus on the kids elements as the core audience, there is actually very little in them that an adult should find entertaining. They aren't even kids films made with a sly wink to adults: they are just kids films.

I think we might expect a little much if we want them to be really any good.

Finally saw this the other day and it was ok. A few cool parts, but not a great movie.

So if you take Felix, it makes you high?

"And the pincers." LoL.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.
