Damn good. HL lived up to the hype, no doubt. He should at least get nominated for an oscar, and i would day that even if he were stilll alive. The Joker was creepy as shit. My few complaints were tiny.

This probably will be good and people are saying its either the best thing since sliced bread or simply a good film. i will have to go and watch it to judge Heath Ledger's acting.

Also the best or my favorite film of the year so far is In Bruges. I have seen No country for Old Men and liked it but havent seen Daniel Day Lewis in there will be blood. As for Iron man bein the best film id say it was average

I wasn't a fan of No country for old men. It was beautifully shot, but I think the Coens have disappeared up their own arses one too many times.

Dark Knight is my favourite film of the year so far. Dunno what it was before that, but not Iron Man (though I liked it a lot). I thought Juno was very good (was that this year?). The Darjeeling Ltd was another very beautiful film, and very difficult to fault, but ultimately lacking something. The soundtrack is perfection, though :o

No Country for Old Men was good but i think maybe worth a rewatch to give its full potential a goin over. In Buges is worth a watch btw if your interested.

im sure TDK will be at worst a good film. Also i thought Begins was a bit long but i suppose as its a crime narrative not a Batman film it makes sense for it to be this long.

Anyone notice Fox's remark about that the suit not being impervious to a certain mammal. I wonder if that's a hint for the next movie.

Ledger was phenomenal but Oldman deserves more attention because he disappeared into his character.

What mammal? Cats? Are penguins mammals? :(

It would be a great flaw in the suits design if the suit wasn't penguinproof...

You're the second person I've heard say this, and I just can't understand it. How can Gary Oldman deserve more attention that Ledger? Heath Ledger was far and away the outstanding performance of this film. Oldman did well, but he had nowhere near the challenge that Ledger did, and he did nowhere near as good a job.

How hard is it to disappear into the character of Gordon?

While I don't think Oldmans acting deserves more attention than ledgers, the Joker is amazing, I would actually agree that Oldman did a very good job.

When I stop thinking about a character in a film as an actor I think the actor is doing a good job. That was the case when I watched Gordon in the Dark Knight.

Of course one could argue that it was all about that moustache... Damn it's sexy!

Oldman did a good job, but really, how many other actors could convincingly play that role? A lot. How many could pull off the Joker as well as Ledger? Ummm, just Ledger. Although I wouldn't have minded seeing Depp give it a crack.

I think there are a few actors who'd have had a chance of doing the Joker as well as Ledger, it'd have been very different but not necessarily worse. Depp is the obvious one, Bale if he didn't have an obvious disadvantage for the role, Brad Pitt...

I think Pitt would have been interesting, but he might have gone overboard.

I just have to say that everyone rules in this film, what a cast, it has truly crossed over the genre borders and can be viewed as a serious film.

My only gripe is the way that the Batman suit emphasises the slightly odd shape of Bale's mouth when he speaks!

I noticed that! It wasn't really noticeable in the last one.

Yes the mouth was weird.

I was actually wondering about that. If the rest of Batmans suit is so advanced, why doesn't he cover up his entire face and use a microphone instead? In Begins you see that the league of shadow or what ever they are called, use a kind of mouthbreather, and they are sleek and cool.

Are we supposed to believe that Batman, who is not much more than a brawler when you get down to it, wouldn't get every single tooth knocked out of his face in a matter of a year?

1) Saw it.
2) Heath was very good, and will get the awards because he is dead.
3) I think that twoface's actor (whos name I don't remember) was pretty damn amazing as well.
4) In fact, pretty much the whole cast was amazing.
5) Batman has super-kung-fu training, and will never be hit in the mouth!
6) Anyone notice how Batman's voice changes when he is the goddamn batman? Is that because of how the suit rests on his voicebox?
7) Dogs! GOD NO NOT DOGS!

PS -
Joker: Do you know how I got these scars?
Batman: No, but I know how you got these

What was the point of him rubbing his face in and licking the gasoline from the drum he tipped over?

He was freaking out, and tied to a chair he could not get his face out of it after he tipped the chair over. He wasn't licking it, he was trying to get it out of his mouth as he was trying to breathe.

Plus, he had to burn his face without hurting himself somehow.
