I alway picture Kalam like Snipes and Barathol as Michael Clark Duncan. With Sam Jackson as Dassem, I mean he's tall, lean, dark skinned and is best when he doesn't have to carry the dialogue.
Also I want to see Cotillion played by Liam Neeson.

Pretty much agree with all this though possibly Djimon Honsou (blood diamond guy whose also in Gladiator and coming to America). Hed be good and is built.

Kallor is Christopher Lee. There is no possible way that anyone else can play an ancient, tall withered badass. Honestly the man is a legend and I think Erikson had him in mind.

Haha, he's in In America, not Coming to America. A most hilarious slip of the tongue, and I thank you for it.

Speaking of, though, Paddy Considine would make a good Hedge.

I always invisioned Kallor as looking like the evil guy from the painting in Ghostbusters 2.
'I am going to beat a god senseless.'

yeah man, the malazan series is one that really couldnt de done justice in any typical hollywood way... i really hope that it never sees the light of the silver screen.

in other news, in the situation that they do make a movie about MBotF, tehol beddict should be jeff bridges. the dude from the big lebowski. bullseye.

I agree that it's best without any movie or TV show or anything, because they would undoubtedly suck compared to the books.

I don't see Bridges as Tehol though at all. I imagine Tehol being about 6 feet tall, thin and lean... Actually I think someone on here drew a really good picture of him and it was spot on, face-wise at least.

If there was a movie, I wouldn't mind seeing Keefer Sutherland in there somewhere, maybe playing a similar character like he did in Dark City. Maybe Baruk or something..

Totally agree w/ this. Not sure where the OP got SL Jackson from, but I don't see that at all. Unless he was j/k.... :(

There's no such thing as someone being too old to play Kallor, since he's older than dirt anyway. No, SLJ would be better cast as either Quick Ben or Kalam (I think Kalam myself) and yeah, maybe Clint as Kallor. They're both up there, and showing their age. Bruce Willis as Whiskey Jack, but who would play Fiddler?

Hadn't thought of Clint Eastwood as Kallor, but I could see that now I think about it. Maybe Ian McKellen.

Some scrappy, scruffy blue-collar guy for Fiddler. Not sure who. Colm Meaney?
This series would make a much better cable series like Game of Thrones, rather than just a feature length movie. In fact I could see GoT as a series of movies based of the series ASoIaF, but not TMBotF :D

Either of those would be great, leaning slightly towards Grace Park of the two.

If you have seen the series Supernatural the character of death is almost the perfekt image i have of kallor.
Really "old" without being old.
They may cut your dick in half
And serve it to a pig
And though it hurts, you'll laugh
And dance a dickless jig

I find this bizarre, because I imagine Anomander as this extremely handsome white man as in elfs are said to be in Tolkien's books, just black skinned, not the skin colour of blacks, but deep light absorbing black.
