I was only moderately impressed by PERSON OF INTEREST, but I'll keep watching hoping that it might give me something more to work with.

Liked the first ep. Second ep was dull, at times bordering on silly.

Emerson still not playing to his potential, especially when he tries to make his manipulative genius do-gooder more sensitive. FFS, establish him as a cold-blooded (yet caring) bastard FIRST, back story and hugs LATER.

Gun-Jesus, on the other hand, needs to remember he's not playing the Terminator and loosen up just a tiny bit.

Ep 2 also failed to really make any interesting use of the tech element that is supposedly at the heart of the series. it was a loose starting point (the computers say she's alive, but she's DEAD!) and then ignored.

I just wish it didn't give me echoes of DOLLHOUSE which initially had a strange, but interesting premise that they didn't really use for a long time and I wondered where it could possibly go and be relevant and compelling....and then they hit us with that extra pilot, and the entire second season which kicked serious ass...but by then it was too late and Fox had pulled the plug.

Watched the TERRA NOVA 2hr premiere.

It was... unsubtle. The set-up was good enough, notwithstanding the massive amounts of lampshading that took place (dude can just sneak into line at the time machine device that's supposed to save the world... riiiIIIIIiiight. And then he justs decks a guy and jumps through for good measure. uh-huh. yeah. suretainly.). But the attempt to hammer in a 'Lost' type mystery with the Sixers and the carvings was so fists-of-ham as to verge on insulting. And the dino fx were mediocre.

I'll give it another ep or two, but pessimism is running high.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up for me. Waaay to predictable? I liked the bit before they went through the portal - until it turned into the love-child of Jurassic Park and Avatar. Damn, that actor even looked just like the bad guy from Avatar. Then we had a 'JP' sauropod introduction scene, and some kids getting into trouble.

I'll watch the next one, but that might be it.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Hah! Well, shiit.

That explains that one then.

But hey, my point still stands - the same actual guy is basically playing the same person, in a similar setting. It just needs some cameos by Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil now.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

That could only improve it.

second ep was... mildly better in some respects, worse in others.

Watching actors pretend to be knocked over by CGI turkeydactyls was just embarassing.
And the best bit... where Shannen and Avatar-dude tear out in the jeep with the flock of turkeys after them, takes place OFF SCREEN???
seriously????

But the plot itself was clever and shows they're at least thinking about story a little bit.

In other news PERSONS OF INTEREST ep 2 was both boring and predictable. Impending fail sense is tingling.

Yeah, I've actually back-burnered TERRA NOVA after Ep 3 simply because it's not pulling me in too much right now and I'd rather wait and see if it makes it as a show first. But I was similarly underwhelmed by some aspects of the 3rd ep.

I've also given up on PERSON OF INTEREST completely, if you can't hook me by now you probably won't down the line.

REVENGE is still good and I hope it makes it.

I'm sad we have to wait till the new year to see ALCATRAZ (which DOES have Sam Neil funnily enough), as I am looking fwd to that one.

Though it is entirely bittersweet to be watching the first of the last 6 episodes of THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES (Series 5) (due to Elisabeth Sladen's untimely death), I have to say how impressed I am with the quality of this show even though it's for kids. Such a good DW spin-off!

We bought the complete series 1-5 of HUSTLE the other day. Looking forward to getting into that one, the few episodes I've seen so far have been excellent.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

The 'evil' timeline was easily the funniest thing I have seen on Community ever.

I really really really want to start watching season 3 now, but I have no time! Stupid commitments ;)

Okay so the 3rd episode of TERRA NOVA was better than the second and the 4th (on now) is shaping up to be better as well. Though is faltered out of the gate...maybe there's something here.

You thought so? I thought it was a retread of a stock plot Trek, Stargate and even Buffy had done mutiple times.
That said, the characters are engaging me to an extent, and hey, dinosaurs (Taylor scoffing at the brontosaurus was funny), but i'm still on the big vine grown carnosaur-proof fence.

I think that was actually WHY I liked it. There isn't anything on TV right now like Star Trek, Buffy or Stargate...thus this is tempting me to fill that void, and the promise that it might become something better is there.

I dunno. We'll see, but I'm fence-riding as well.

Finally got around to watching the last Community.

Holy shit, that was a good one.

Troy's timeline had me gasping.

Also, after 3 episodes i"m happy Modern Family is still the best show on TV.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

i go back and forth on this show... some parts are brilliant and then there seem to be long stretches of overtly trying/failing to be that good.

It's continuously funny to me and there is always something I like in each episode. Love it still.

I dont get that myself. I never get tired of watching that show. I could just listen to Phil ramble all day.

I am brave. Roller coasters? Love ‘em. Scary movies? I’ve seen Ghostbusters like 7 times. I regularly drive through neighborhoods that have only recently been gentrified. So yeah, I’m pretty much not afraid of anything...
