Man, I watched eps 5 & 6 last night... absolutely amazing though ep 6 broke me.
Spoiler
DON'T TOUCH MY DAUGHTER... Man the feels!
Every single frame is hand animated and you can tell that it is.
I am just gutted it is coming to an end this weekend. Can't wait to see what they have planned next in the LoL universe.
That was an incredible moment...and the other bit that broke me internally was
Spoiler
watching Jayce walk up with the hammer, driven mad by the wild rune....I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO....please don't kill Viktor, please don't kill Viktor, please don't kill Viktor....because I knew that if he killed Viktor in his madness, then Vander was gone and Vi and Jinx would lose their last vestige of family. That shit was heartbreaking, and then adding Isha sacrificing herself to the mix? My god, my heart couldn't take it.
I WILL say that it was great to see Rictus finally eat it during Vanders final raging savagery, that MFer had it coming for so long!
Now I want Ambessa to suffer...she's the last one I need to see go down...

"Someone will always try to sell you despair, just so they don't feel alone." ~Ursula Vernon
MSG SEED was so much better way back when it was just my 2nd MSG show. I’m on ep 35 now. This show is full flashbacks and review boards and it makes SG-1 seem tame in that department. Just ugh. Definitely at the bottom end of MSG imo.

Creased I was the same...
Spoiler
As soon as Jayce was shown at the Haven all a little crazy I was like ohhhh noooooo you fuckers please don't...
And then Powder - yes Powder! - and Vi and Vander together again all happy family, I really didn't want to watch what was coming, you just knew it wasn't going to end well... but damn man, they did it in such a good way...
Rictus getting absolutely destroyed was so satisfying, agreed there, that needed to happen...
Can't wait to see karma Vs Ambessa...
I wonder how/if they are going to tie in the lore of Arcane with their in game lore and character deaths... will Viktor return? Warwick/Vander?
Also looking forward to the story of Dr Reveck's daughter... but don't want to get into too much spoilers if you're not familiar with game lore!
I'm so excited to watch Arcane S2. Folks were visiting, and now my in-laws are visiting. When they all vacate the premises in a week or so, I will be diving in (possibly including a rewatch of S1).
Location:The call is coming from inside the house!!!!
Interests:Interesting.

Wow. For what is otherwise an exceptional tv show, S3 really fails to stick the landing.
Eps 7-8
Spoiler
were basically one long montage of Carmy's memories that we had already seen in earlier eps, Syd's decision crisis, and a weirdly overdone love-letter to the restaurant industry that was neither as sincere nr deep as it was pretending to be. There were little kernels of gold (Tina and Marcus cooking, Richie w Tiff, the Faks w Claire) but the two leads were just... spiralling... thru the same subplot they've been in for 4 eps already with near zero progress. Carmy confronting the Chef who made his life hell was a great scene - in particular because it so thoroughly went sideways from the massive confrontation Carmy wanted - but it was his only scene in that ep that mattered.
Still a great show, i'll be there for S4, but this was a really weak end to a season that was shaping up to be so strong. It felt like the showrunners didn't know if they would get a S4, avoided committing, then rushed to cobble together the end of the season without any real plan beyond a vague sense of where they wanted to go next season.

Reduced me to a puddle of tears twice AND made me leap up and pump my fist in glory more than a few times.
Absolutely spectacular show top to bottom. The writing was incredible. The characters feel well lived in, and are all distinctive and cool in their own ways. The score was also top notch. Soundtrack in heavy rotation.
Spoilers for the finale:
Spoiler
Things that did me in:
Jayce and Viktor's conversation where Viktor asks Jayce why he's still bothering since their friendship is gone and Viktor was doing things to end their way of life....Jayce "Because I made a promise"...fuck me. Even in the face of the most terrible cosmic and uncaring version of Viktor, he STILL is willing to hold to his word.
Vi losing Jinx. I saw it coming and I was still totally destroyed when it happened. Their sisterhood was so well realized.
Ekko being the MVP was not on my bingo card, but I was HERE for it. Every single time he used the time thing to gainsay someone making the wrong choice was awesome (especially doing it to jinx), and then to realize he needed to push it to the limits to save everyone? Amaze.
I'll need to rewatch it and will do once they do a physical bluray box set of the show, can't wait.
And then I was sad and popped back to the main Netflix screen thinking "OH man, it's over that sucks"....only to see not one but TWO new animated shows just dropped!
One is a futuristic solarpunk post-scarcity Japanese show with kind off similar animation to ARCANE (though nowhere near that level mind you) and a really neat little story. Only one episode in so far, but very much enjoying. Solarpunk content doesn't trickle out fast into the ether, so I'm here for it.
And the other one I'd heard about a while ago but didn't realize was coming out so soon, and that season 1 of PANTHEON (which debuted on AMC+ I think?) is now on Netflix too, and that looks cool as hell too.
Oh, and on Dec 4th is that 4 episode Thai miniseries TOMORROW & I which is futuristic and looks crazy and cool as well.
And Christmas brings WHAT IF? final season.
Our cup, she runeth over...

"The show was artsy and dark and brooding, but in Season 3 what if we make it sooooooo artsy and dark and brooding!"
Chunks of S3 were excellent, exceptional even, but oddly they were mostly the parts/eps that focused on the wider cast, not the two leads. Syd and Carmy had their moments but it seems like the near exact same moments were just being repeated and repeated. The Tina, Richie, and Marcus focused episodes were all kinds of great, story and performance-wise. Sug and Diane was Emmy territory all over again... weird choice to do an episode like that in a show like this but it was so well done i couldn't object.

I didn't want to quote you, QT, as I've not watched Arcane finale yet and wanted to avoid the spoiler but Pantheon is really good!
I didn't want to watch Arcane yet if it's going to be a sad ending, need the right frame of mind for that ha!

I devoured season one and two, heard poor things about season three so I've held off watching it yet, thinking I'll get caught up with it over the Christmas period.
Finished up MSG SEED. Yup I stopped right short of the finish line 15 or so years ago. I still maintain that had I seen more of the franchise 1st this would have been disappointing back then. As I said there is so many flashbacks and repeating launch/cockpit/bridge-ship shaking from rounds hitting and it just gets old and annoying. Gotta say though that the last arc once back in space was balls to the wall violence and death. Fuck yeah!
I’ve now watched ep 1 of SEED Destiny and I’m fucking terrified of the launch sequence I saw in it. Heaven help me if I have to watch this over and over. It’s long. Looking forward to the next entry after that epic finale of SEED though.
Tomorrow the dub of AoT final episode hits Hulu. I have been pissed off for damn near 2 weeks waiting for it…
Just noticed that Hulu has a Black Friday deal until December 2nd---$0.99 / month for 12 months (but with ads). Shows include (in order of my interest in watching them):
American Horror Story
Shōgun
The Bear
Only Murders in the Building The Handmaid's Tale [this is a reality show now right?]
It's been days since I finished S2 of ARCANE and I am still utterly hollowed out emotionally from it.
Like my gods...I want to re-watch it all, but I'm so afraid of what it will do to me to go through all that again from a fragility standpoint so soon.
And if I have to be cored out, you all have to be cored out, so here is Heimerdinger singing a folk song that cut me into little tiny fucking pieces.
Two spoiler things I noticed since watching:
Spoiler
Powder & Ekko dancing in the other reality is filmed at 4frames per second...THE SAME TIMEFRAME EKKO'S Z-DRIVE DEVICE ALLOWS HIM...like do you know how goddamn clever you have to be to come up with such a tiny nugget of lore than most people would never even notice? Incredible.
Oh, and when Jinx falls with Vander/Warwick/her dad and she turns as she falls to embrace him in a hug....oh hey, why don't you just rip my heart ALL the way out!
And the last thing is that Jinx's hairstyle is intentional. When she's young (powder) it matches her sisters. Then she just mimics her moms braid. Then after everything goes to hell it's a combination of her mothers braids, and Silco's hair hanging over his eyes showing the duality of her belief system as Jinx, and then lastly prior to the end as she's in the jail cell, it's unravelled and spread all around her, all sense of "identity" is gone, and she has to find it again, which she does as she hacks most of it off except for the bit over her eyes in a mimicking of her sister again, and she adds a streak of pink to the blue for that reason.
Like I CANNOT say enough good things about Fortiche's work here with this show. It's done top to bottom with attention to every detail.

Struggling w THE DIPLOMAT. The cast is for the most part great (Keri Russel and Rufus Sewell both nail their own rolls but sometimes stare at each other like they're just waiting for the other person to finish reading their lines and for the relationship that's supposed to be at the core of the show that's a problem), the production solid, but it's trying to be The West Wing when it needs (arguably wants) to be Mr and Mrs Smith and/or The Night Manager. 3 eps in to S1, could go either way. Coming off THE BEAR that did conversations and interpersonal storylines brilliantly this is not holding our attention very well.

COBRA KAI season 6 has been All Killa No filla this season. Hell, the brawl that occurred in the 5th episode of the 2nd batch of episodes was top tier and blows the high school hallway brawl from S2 out of the water.
I love what they are doing with everyone pretty much. The world competition of the Sekai Takai is a cool thing to build this around and allowed them to make it more than just Miyagi-Do VS Cobra Kai again. And I could be wrong, but I THINK we will see a Kreese redemption (and much as a guy like Kreese can BE redeemed anyways).
I will be impatiently awaiting the last 5 episodes and the end of this completely fun and stellar series.
As things progress though I DO lose hope that the last of the original KARATE KID characters cameos who has not shown up yet (Hillary Swank) will not appear as I had expected her to, which sucks...but maybe they asked and she didn't want to do it.
I love that Chozen stayed on the show as a fan fave after his appearance in S4/5, and I was even rooting for him to end up with Kumiko in a kind of circling back way...he crushed on her as a kid when he was a dickhead...but as an adult he wins her respect and they end up together...or at least I expected that...but now it appears as if Tamlyn Tomita (Kumiko actress) didn't want to come back, so they wrote in that "guy in a towel" thing so Chozen would move on? Anyways it allows the BEST relationship on the show to flourish unexpectedly Kim Da-Eun and Chozen. Seriously, despite their age difference (she's 37 and he's 64) Alicia Hannah-Kim and Yuji Okamoto have FIERY chemistry in every scene they share. Just incredible. I hope Kim is his happy ending.
And I know that Zabka shot a scene or scenes for KARATE KID LEGENDS, which is the movie coming next year that stars Macchio and Daniel and brings him together with Jackie Chan's Mr. Han from the reboot, and the student is Ben Wang (of AMERICAN BORN CHINESE fame), so I expect at least a stinger at the tail end of this series where Mr. Han arrives and tells Daniel he needs his help or some such.
