On S10 of Friends. Holy crap Dakota Flanning has a role.

Small role, but yeah. I like that they try to convince Joey she was a ghost. LOL

Same "target base" but different and much more dumb if that's even possible, also, hornified(is that a word? I just typed it) where somewhat attractive people hoping to make a career in bad reality tv, who pretend to be couples who are at a crossroads go to lounge in swimwear, sit in hot tub, drink a lot, fuck around with other people, all the while pretending to see if they are meant to be with each other and leave the island still pretending to be a couple intact or leave with one of the Temptation singles placed there because the fan will give them more 'likes' on InstaTwit. I will probably bail out of this one. I find the plot too complicated to follow don't find anyone very attractive.

Is anyone else watching the BBC adaptation of Les Miserables? It is so freaking good! Got nothing to do with the musical and is more of a direct adaptation of the Victor Hugo novel. It's ace - the casting and writing are both really well done.

Plus, the incredible Olivia Colman is Madame Thernadier!

Trav I thought of another Netflix show that should be checked out. If your liking Stranger Things then check out The OA.

Finished up Man in the High Castle. Enjoyed seasons 1-2. Season 3 was ok. I dont know if they were trying to tell too many stories in limited episodes, not flushing out stories enough or what. But it certainly wasnt as captivating as the prior 2. I'm still in for season 4 though.

Gonna give Last Kingdom a try.

Finished Punisher 8. So much time spent trying to flesh out Jigsaw, his shrink, and Madano; but they are so boring! This season could have been 2 or 3 episodes shorter with some stricter editing.

21 minutes to Bachelor bliss/fix.

Been a long week.

Huh what's up with the wonky time keeping? I posted that at 6:39 and now it says I did it at 6:41.

It’s just the time differential between your post and the server refresh.

Dammit people I keep telling you to wait until he’s asleep, THEN the remote mindwipe and anal probe.

I think I'd rather have the probe than watch the Bachelor.

I know most of you forumites are not really into american football. TBH I'm not a big fan either, and find it boring a lot if the time if I'm being straight about it. But, any of you hyped for the commercials that air? What new reveals for upcoming movies or other such fun stuff do you think will be aired? Any you studly pudlys who are connected with the inside scoop have anything you can share? Tease us!

Here's something to wet the whistle.

Started watching Patty Jenkins I AM THE NIGHT (which is on TNT, but I grabbed off iTunes), it's a limited series starring Chris Pine, and India Eisley and is about George Hodel...the man who (amongst more than a few heinous crimes) is said to have been (and was the FBI's MAIN Suspect) the man who killed and dismembered Elizabeth Short (AKA The Black Dahlia). Told from the POV of Fauna Hodel, who is being raised by an adopted mother in Nevada when she learns she is really the granddaughter of this man in California, and goes there seeking him out..

It's EXCELLENT. Creepy AF, well shot, written, and acted and directed. It's based on the real life events chronicled in Fauna's memoir: One Day She'll Darken: The Mysterious Beginnings of Fauna Hodel.

Anyways, so far WELL worth your time!

I watched the Adam Ruins Everything collection on Netflix. It's not a distinct season so I don't know what's missing and if it spans content from multiple seasons, but it was pretty entertaining and often informative. The episode on immigration, while not exhaustive, and I presume pre-2016 election, is pretty sharp on some of the basics. Overall it seems like the healthiest avenue for a "Well, actually..." guy to aim that impulse that I've seen. Hopefully there's not like some big dark secret about the show that I don't know, cuz as of now, I hope Netflix adds more. Do they do any "what we've gotten wrong" style episodes that address feedback or anything like that? I seem to remember the Mythbusters guys doing episodes like that once in a while.

First, Adam Ruins Everything is awesome.

Second,

Stephen King's The Stand gets 10-episode series on CBS All-Access.

I had given <0% consideration to CBS All Access until now.

Well, to be fair, Adam Ruins can be hit or miss. I think they are running out of ideas, as I seen one recent episode (haven't watched it) titled - Adam Ruins Nachos.

I became interested in CBS All Access when I seen that a Jordan Peele hosted Twilight Zone was in their content pipeline. Still not sure I will pay for it though.

Stranger Things has been so good. Just reaching the end of season 2.

The sheer quantity of Aliens refs in here is amazing. I spent a good few minutes looking at Paul Reiser and saying 'I know him... what the hell has he been in?' Before it clicked. (I've think I've seen him in anything since Aliens so it was a bit freaky seeing familiar expressions on a much older face.)

I like all the 80s touches - the title reminds me of films like The Fog, and the front covers of early Stephen King novels.

I'm kind of hoping they have a 4-5 season plan for this, like Breaking Bad. It's got a great pace, being the polar opposite in that respect to monster of the week shows like Lucifer, where there is a frustrating lack of actual progress over an entire season.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Finished The Passage Ep 2. This isn’t stellar tv but it’s popcorn goodness so far. Just the right amount of cheese. Big forehead slapping moment at the end by that team though.

I'm caught up through episode 3 (4 airs tonight). It's getting better. We're getting back stories on some of the Project Noah "participants."
