Did they arrest the earthquake or did it get away with it?

Finished season 2 of GLOW. Think I enjoyed it more than the first one, which is quite impressive. The episode where it was just an episode of the show within the show was superb.

Any of you other sexy fuckers planning on checking out Manifest tonight?

Loved the premise, meh on the rest of the ep. I’ll give it another episode or two.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Based on an incredible highlight reel on YouTube of the office I downloaded and watched two episodes of the first season.

This is the most boring, least funny show I have ever seen.

I don’t think we are really comparing it to Avatar so much as saying we can see similar vibes with it like the Books/Elements(I want to see what Stars can do) Ha if that even really makes sense?

Bad characters? What?

I would agree with you about the obvious but I’m not sure if it was for what you say. QT or anyone don’t click this till you finish...

Spoiler

finished DRAGON PRINCE Season 1. Great ending! Really liked the development of the three mains, especially Rayla.

And can I just say that...

Spoiler

Can't wait to see where it goes in Book 2!

Also, I want to see what the rest of Zadia and the non-Moon Shadow elves look and act like.

Watched American Vandal S2. Initially I was skeptical, like, how are they gonna do this a second time? The kid who played Dylan was so perfect, and though the character isn't super original (he's kinda just Jonah Takalua without the brownface), the series shockingly did everything it set out to do very successfully. Well, S2 doesn't have a character quite as good as Dylan, and some of the novelty has warn off, but other than that I'd say it really does manage to be as addictive, cheeky, and ultimately as smart as the first one. In my opinion, they pulled it off a second time!

US. Is UK good?

The highlight real I saw was about all the pranks they play and it seemed really funny. The show however has Steve carrel just being an asshole and incompetent boss. Whats funny about a man pretend firing his secretary in the first episode? I have no emotional attachment if she is fired and as a joke its piss poor. Also in the second episode I saw whats funny about him choosing a black staff member to be on his basketball team but the joke is the overweight guy he ignores turned out to be telling the truth that he is good at basketball? This is not comedy. Maybe this resonates with people who have these kinds of bosses in real life.

US spends about half the first season trying to imitate the deadpan, dry British version (Which stays kind of "cruel" throughout its run) almost to a script T...and it SUCKS as a result because it doesn't translate AT ALL.

After they stop trying to do that and allow it to become its own thing...it gets much better and improves over the rest of the seasons.

The funny stuff you saw is likely from the latter seasons beginning with S2. They also get a lot of "heart" going as the show progresses which is nice...the British version never stops being mean to have heart....and I think that's where the US version found its feet.

We finished Maniac last weekend. I'm honestly not sure how to describe it on the whole or what i think of it. I mean I liked it overall; i can say that. Some things I loved, some things not so much. There are some interesting and thought provoking statements made about the human mind that are worth considering in real life. Its a trip. And Justin Theroux's character and performance is pretty hilarious.

I'm not sure I want to watch MANIAC...there was an interview with Fukanaga about it, and he stated something that turns me off Emma Stone. That she HATED playing the Elf character she has to play in it... because she doesn't like things that aren't real....and I'm over here like....Um...you're an ACTOR! You play "things that aren't real" for a living.

It just makes my opinion of her lower. You chose a career in acting. If you don't like make believe, why did you choose that career?

Ugh. Maybe I'm just cranky today.

If that's true it puts an interview I saw of her with Stephen Colbert in new light. He asks if she liked playing the elf and she kinda just sits their going mhhmm. Colbert is a crazy LotR fan and I thought she was kinda light heartedly making fun with him.

Also she was in spider man!

Also she should want to have my babies

That's interesting. I will say that character didn't "fit" her well, imo. But I'm not always sold on Emma Stone for some reason so who am I to judge? Her "sister" in that storyline (Julia Garner, who plays Ruth in Ozark OUTSTANDINGLY) was much more natural and believable. I wouldn't have guessed that could be the reason, though. It shouldn't have been that difficult, I would think; She's a drunk and disillusioned guide that happens to be part elf.

I wasn't super sure about season 2 at first as well, but after watching it I think they did a really good job, the Turd Burglar stuff was great. I'm also glad they decided to show us who did it in the end
Spoiler

Although, season 2 was a different experience for me, embarrassingly enough when I watched season 1 my friend told me this was a legit documentary and being a dumbass I didn't question this throughout the whole season. I didn't find out the truth until it ended and I wanted to know what happened after and googled it... Pretty embarrassing seeing as I've seen a number of those actors before...

One thing nobody seems to be talking about, at least in my circles, is that CBS is rebooting Magnum PI?? Wth. They're also behind Hawaii 5-0 and MacGyver right?
