Today I have watched 10 episodes of season 11 of Supernatural. I know they're flogging a dead horse but the stand-alone monster-of-the-week episodes have been quite good. One whole episode filmed from inside the car and another one about childrens imaginary friends being real and Sam's old one comes to them for help. I have chortled.

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series started up again (season 3), huh go figure, I didn't even know. And it looks like they are pivoting towards a more cheesetastic direction, as Scott is now in a band called "Fanglorious" and is seems his sister (Kate) is now inhabited by a being bent on usurping Santánico Pandemonium as queen and destroying everything and everyone (or something). At least that's what I could pick up by watching some bits here and there of episode 3. Maybe I'll try and get caught up, seems just good and cheesy enough to check my brain out for some stupid fun.

Ugh I am so mad at Rory, she is totally messing Dean around, Jess is a no good douchebag and Dean built a freaking car for her! All Jess has done is be an insufferable turd.

So yeah. Had to get that out.

I watched Season 1...I just don't think the concept had much more to it beyond the orignial movie story (season 1), so I never bothered with the next season. And from that description, it certainly sounds like they didn't know where to go with it either.

Check that. After three episodes I might have to bail. He's too awkward and unlikable. I can't take it.

Keep watching it! It gets way, way better and Danny McBride's character is pretty relatable, imo! Vice Principals is a real sleeper hit.

Oh it's funny, but just too cringed. I might give it another episode or two.

Been binge watching EPISODES on Netflix, and while it's a SUPER slow burn, it's really entertaining!

Started watching AMERICAN HORROR STORY, and I'm not sure what to make of it yet...it's decent, but not mind blowing.

I still quite like the first season, but I will say the first episode is so busy with horror cliches from a directing/editing perspective -- weird jumpy cuts, annoying "scary" sound editing, creepy camera angles, etc. -- that it gets distracting and annoying. After that though it mostly calms down with that stuff and gets on with telling a pretty creepy story.

This is very true, the pilot is STUFFED with horror cliches. But yeah, it calms down after that and the deep lore about the house is fascinating.

I was especially chilled...

Spoiler

I'm curious how the evil manifests and why. Is the house only evil because he guy who built it was a psychopath, or is there something else at play here?

And the use of that one piece of music from BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA being used every time they cut back to the original 1920's inhabitants, only adds to the atmosphere.

So last night I had multiple major nightmares...perhaps I'm too much of a chicken shit to watch AHS, or at least not binge 8 eps of it in one go.

Does anyone know the creepypasta story CANDLE COVE?

It's one of my faves...for both story and exceuctiuon. Well SyFy has decided to turn it into a tv show! Go here to see some teaser clips!

Here is the original creepypasta for those who wants to read it (fairly short).

EDIT: Turns out that it's going to tackle a different creepypasta story each season and Candle Cove is merely the first one. That's exciting! I hope they do the Smiling Man!

Oh man I was talking about this creepy pasta the other day but we couldn't remember what it was called! So freaky! Be interesting to see how it turns out on TV...

I feel like this could be a bit of an intellectual property minefield for them. I wonder if they've tracked down the original author?

Yes, they did track him down and credit him (Kris something?). They also tracked down the person who originally wrote the one they are using for season 2 (NO-END HOUSE).

SMILING MAN might be a tough sell as I THINK it's always been anonymous?

I could see them doing the British one about the Queen's Guardhouse soldier who runs into this creepy woman who just stands in front of him with her mouth open wide for hours. He is explicitly told by those who had his job beforehand on his shift to NEVER speak to her. Of course he eventually does....that's another humdinger story they could make a season out of.

I've been watching the first couple of episodes of Donald Glover's Atlanta on FX. It's quality and you should watch it too.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.
