Sooooooo, Netflix has all 25 eps of BOB ROSS: BEAUTY IS EVERYWHERE to stream now!

Goddamn I loved Bob Ross. Watched him any time he was on back in the day. Can't wait to binge these!

I'm four episodes into Peaky Blinders season three. They've really figured out how to keep us on our toes regarding what happens to the Shelby clan. The cast continues to do great jobs with occasionally shaky dialogue/situations.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

So is watching Naked Gun movies were his sole role is comedy.

Watched The Naked Gun last night as a result of this post. Still hilarious! Will watch the sequels soon. I don't think I ever saw the third one, come to think of it.

Watched the first episode of THE NIGHT MANAGER with Tom Hiddelston, Olivia Coleman, and Hugh Laurie, and it was REALLY excellent. I don't usually go in for LeCarre's slower, more thoughtful spy narrative...but this is REALLY quality. Sumptuously shot as well. I've heard tell the main director of these is up in the running to direct the next Bond...which would be a fantastic fit I think.

Anyways, great show, much enjoying!

Ep 2 of that Ter House. That pool is shit! It's 5 ft wide lol. It's prob huge to them though

Running into that culture barrier again to. The speakers are getting a kick out of each other and yet I'm reading the sub and am thinking to myself how is that comment funny? It's an interesting show for sure but I've a feeling lots is going to be lost on my end.

They only use the pool that the once. Then never get into it again that we see.

Yeah, the humour is VERY culturally Japanese, especially in the peanut gallery scenes (the guy with the glasses is my fave as I find him funniest). I think my experiences with my dad's family (who are Japanese or Japanese descendants) and in particular my grandmother have helped me with Japanese humour...since her humour was pretty much identical to the stuff on display here. It takes some getting used to, but you should get the hang of it after a few more eps.

Ok I actually finally loled at panel on Ep 5. The hair cutter asked out all 3 girls and when panel came up the 1st thing said was "what a fucker" by glasses

The 14 yr old isn't in Ep so I guess that's no coinisidence we get curse words finally? I ll be happy if kid doesn't come back

He eventually has to leave to go off to school. But even before then he says pretty much nothing on any given ep.

Not sure if anybody else on here is a fan of Shakespeare adaptions, but I'll mention it just in case. The recent BBC Hollow Crown part 2 run has been terrific - Henry VI parts 1 and 2 (they've shortened it somewhat) and Richard III, Benedict Cumberbatch is Richard III and there's a whole host of other big name Brits in the cast. Really worth a watch if you like that kind of thing :p

Peaky Blinders is fantastic. It's an Irish gangster series from the 1920s and over the course, the viewer genuinely cares about the characters and sees why they're doing what evil/good they do. I just finished the third season and am nearly doing the sitting at the table with knife and fork, waiting for more thing.

Ep 9 Ter House. Still strange to watch but it's really enjoyable to watch just to get the culture differences. I really like Minori. I still really want to see s southern American/Canadian invade at some point since this is on Netflix but it may not fly for Jap audience.

It happens later on! A guy from Hawaii.

Spoilers asshole!!! Ha

I like Arman so far. Only 1 Ep into him but he seems cool so far. I starting to be able to lol at the gallery and that one girl on it is fucking fine!!!

I was surprised the cast said they don't know English at all! I thought Japan made it a point to teach this to all its young the past few decades since it's a dominate world Lang?

English in Japan is hit and miss depending on the person, and it's defitiely not ubiquitous. Like you can usually get around in English and enough people speak the language brokenly who are in the industries you will run into...but most average citizens, unless they've gone out of their way to learn it, don't speak it.

Have you watched HBO's Boardwalk Empire? How do the two compare?

Also, Arman is my favourite, he slices through ALL the nervous, sometimes laborious back and forth you see with Tatsuya and Minori, or Yuki and Yuriko...and Arman just acts like he would in America. Holding hands, kissing, direct dates asked for, direct statements of intent. He's the best!

You know what's funny, I started out really thinking Makoto (the baseball guy) was cool...but he descended into idiocy and backstabbing pretty quickly over the first spat of episodes.

Oh and yeah the one panel girl, her name escapes me just now...they only announce the celebrity panel names on the first ep, is gorgeous.

I've not seen Boardwalk Empire, but from the synopsis, it looks like Peaky Blinders is a smaller cast and much more focused on the Irish/Gypsy gangsters vs the British police early on.

Jace and me were totally just bugging out watching Voltron Ep 1.

Just wait. Ep 3 has a pretty crazy revelation I didn't see coming.

Also, Hunk is goddamned HILARIOUS. Literally all his lines are comedy gold.
