What! That was classic rich-dude-wasting-money behavior. I've loved this season.

Since no one has posted this little teaser for the new show yet.

Note the use of the word "crews" (plural)...rumour has it that producer Bryan Fuller has this down as an anthology series like AMERICAN HORROR STORY, where each season covers a different era with different casts, with the first season taking place at some point between The Undiscovered Country film and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Which is a cool idea, and a way to step out of the stale "one-ship" design of the old shows.

Anyways, it's exciting.

Very exciting yes, and I'm glad that it looks like they're dumping the Enterprise setting. Don't get me wrong, Picard is awesome, but it's definitely time for something new and more....innovative.

Which is why I'm hoping, off-topic here, that if they ever get around to making more Stargate, that they reboot the series completely.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Started watching Season 2 of YOUNG JUSTICE on Netflix. Man, it's REALLY good. Better than Season 1 even. So much DC Comics good stuff in that show!

According to Greg Weisman, if we want more, we need to watch and star it on Netflix to show DC the interest.

Done that, but remaining pessimistic. DC is keeping a death grip on its properties these days.
And there seems to be a large v young audience for TTG and also did i mention that the universe is shit?

I've finally gotten around to catching up with NCIS. Even though I think their season finales are generally weak/dumb, and that the show has gotten pretty formulaic, there's still this persistent charm to the show. A mix of funny writing, non-sense science and great characters that makes any given episode fun to watch.

I am currently watching the yearly episode where Fornell from the FBI buddies up with Gibs. In season 11 their shared ex-wife popped up again, now she's been promoted to a special agent for the tax-office.

I love these episodes more than I love freedom and oxygen. They are by a mile the best part of the show. I just sit here with a smile on my face and laugh at how crazy the ex-wife is and how off-balanced the two veteran agents become when she starts screaming and stomping her feet.

It's wonderful. I would watch a sit-com just with these 3 characters all day long.

There is a Japanese Real World-like reality show on Netflix (a co-production with Fuji Television) called TERRACE HOUSE. I binge watched about 12 of the 18 eps on Sunday. It's so bad it's good territory. And not in a trashy way (they are Japanese, the best you get for anger are twitches of eyebrows or wry looks, or blunt-ish statements), and it's ALL about the romances or lack thereof within. It has no reason to be at all, but it's completely spellbinding. Even more, during every episode there is this peanut gallery of people (about 6 of them) who are watching it as well, and you get a few minutes here and there of them commenting (and they are pretty funny)...so the show is a mishmash.

But yeah. If you are at all curious about the interesting way in which a real world reality show might unfold in Japan...look no further. (also, this is the first season that was a co-prod with Netflix, but it's been on for a few seasons before this). I'm fairly obsessed with this show. It's a cultural window for sure.

Here's a snippet which includes the theme song, which is catchy AF.

For those that may have taken my word and checked this out on Netflix and wondered why it kind of just stopped at Ep18...turns out that this was only the first half of the season, and the back half (18 more eps) is still airing in Japan and we will get it after it does so.

I can't exactly explain how VERY excited I am to watch 18 more glorious eps of this show.

It's a completely different type of reality TV. Quiet, understated. But very interesting culturally, and easy to watch as a result. Plus I love the peanut gallery of commentators...they are so funny!

I mean the one guy likes the one girl and their burgeoning relationship proceeds at an absolutely GLACIAL pace. But later on in the season when the Japanese-born (and fluent), half Iranian, American (Hawaii) guy shows up...you can REALLY note the difference in cultures as he moves super quickly with the girl he likes and it astonishes all the fully Japanese cast as they are not at all use to that.

Burned through Billions over the weekend. Damian Lewis pretty much never disappoints. I like how they stayed inside the story without having to make it into something it's not...totally a slow burn. I will probably wait for all of season 2 to be out to watch this next season.

Lady Dynamite on Netflix. Ran through it all over the weekend, and absolutely loved every second of it. A fourth- and fifth-wall breaking meta-sitcom about managing mental illness in a corrosive industry, from Maria Bamford and the folks behind Arrested Development. Also stars Fred Melamed who's been showing up in tons of stuff I've watched lately and always kills it, but this might be his funniest role ever. Not for everyone but this show gets an A++ from me. There are even multiple songs sung by pugs.

I haven't started the new one yet but the original is pretty darn good, and the new one's rep so far has been great -- like in a "we didn't think you could do it, but this is actually great" kind of way. A weird issue now with the original though is that one of the first characters you see is played by OJ Simpson, which is distracting.
