Grace and Frankie

IMDB "you might like this too" tossed up something I had hadn't heard of so I grabbed the first couple of episodes due to Lily Tomlin being in it. You gotta watch it just to see Lily absolutely straight faced say "I call it vagicadabra" about her homemade lube.

Anyone watch Maron? I recently got into it. Good show. If you like Louie/Curb Your Enthusiasm/Extras I think you will enjoy this as well.

Is that good or bad?

It's a Netflix original Sci-fi. I don't care I'm in for the whole season!

Started watching SENSE8 and I'm really liking it. It's DEFNITELY a Wachowski's slow burn...but the fact that they wrote it, created it, are directing large amounts of it (also RUN LOLA RUN's Tom Tykwer, and James McTeague) and they haven't even let me down to this point on their long-game stories (even JUPITER ADCENDING could have been good with different leads).

The acting in this is cool, the diversity of chaarcters , the music, the cinematography....the dialogue can be hokey at times, but overall this is pretty fun so far.

Also, there is a very small part of me that wants this to be a backdoor Matrix connection. Like the telepathy thing is happening becuase these people are already int eh Matrix and don't know. LOL. Pipe dream, but still.

Not enough attention is being given to J. Michael Straczynski when talking about the creators of Sense8... and with him involved, yeah, it's definitely going to be slow burn.

I'll probably give it a look in a week or two.

Nakedness aside, has she learned to act in the intervening years?

Whenever I see the title of Sense8 I can't help but think of a George Clooney coffee commercial...Probably why I'm not watching it.

Binged through all of Season 2 of BROOKLYN 99 on Netflix and laughed our asses off. Goddamn that show is endlessly funny!

The Chopper episode is probably the funniest ep in the entire run so far. Just purely incredible written scripted comedy.

Started watching A Young Doctor's Notebook, and it's awesome in large part due to the gross factor. I was hooked from the moment they introduced the dull bone saw.;)
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Turn S2 finale. Ugh 1700's war style is so crazy. Let's stand in line and take turns shooting each round.

That trend didn't really begin to die out (see what I did there; punnilicious) until the War of Northern Aggression. There were observers from other militaries around the world on both sides and the Prussians learned a thing or two from you Johnny Rebs. One was that marching in straight lines was a good way to lose and the other was that cannons could be moved during a battle.

Well then. Bradley Cooper will be adapting Hyperion for Syfy. Now I'm hoping even harder that their upcoming crop of shows - Dark Matter starting this week and Killjoys the next - are good.

Oh, I hope so too. Don't know about Hyperion, never read it, but I do so hope that the new crop of shows from syfy are good. I need a good Science Fiction fix!

Okay, so Dark Matter.

It had all the usual stereotypes, the angry dude who instantly pushes for command and who likes guns and is aggressive all around. It's got the empathetic and handsome guy who just wants everyone to get along and who wants to help people. It's got the assertive and hot woman who's really intelligent and probably also super badass. It's got the mysterious Asian guy who doesn't say much and is a total badass with swords and kicking and shit. It's got the quirky, but cute, nerd who totally has colourful hair and shiny jacket who knows everything about technology. It's got the big black guy who's the...Hmm, have you guys noticed how the character of the big black guy has changed from being aggressive and angry to being more reflecting and intelligent? I like it, I definitely like it. Also, played by the same guy who played Continuum's big bad Liber8 enforcer, Travis Verta.
Also, it's got the super hot female android with whom one of the crew is totally going to hook up with later (I'm calling it now).
Any other stereotypes aswell.

Thing is, I don't really mind it, I thought it was pretty good. The acting was decent enough given that they're asked to play amnesiac people waking up on a spaceship and who knows nothing of each other. CGI was acceptable and the story wasn't half bad, if a bit predictable. But I liked it and I'm hoping it'll continue being at least this good. If it does I think we have a nice, decent scifi show on our hand.

next week, Killjoys!

And screw SyFy for making me wait until December for The Expanse.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!
