So, end of Ep 2...Is Becky Network?! That would send me round the bend. Especially because I had an "awww" moment when Grant finally hooks up with them and doesn't say anything, just hugs Becky after his ordeal. I don't want her to be Network, but it would make filmic sense since we didn't see her get arrested [she merely told Ian she was], and she knew A LOT about Utopia...but that makes me question the scene at the beginning of the first ep where she's trying to convince colleagues about Utopia's importance.? Ag! What's going to happen next!

Seriously though, this is the best show I've discovered since LUTHER.

Amazing stuff! Can't wait for next Tuesday!

Not too sure about Becky yet I think she might represent something else, yeh we didn't see her get arrested but she did show surprise and a little bit of remorse on finding out that Wilson's dad had been greased, something that if she was Network she would have known about and subsequently not given a shit about. Regarding the opening scene about convincing her colleagues, I think this lends credence to the idea that she is one of the good guys trying to get the info out there. As for who she was talking to who knows, but I think it will be linked to her father who died of Deals(sp) disease, the father was involved somehow, maybe the MI5 women Jessica and Ian are going to find is Becky's mother ?. What i'm interested in is what is going to happen to the people who get given the "Russian Flu" vaccine. Zombie horde he we come ? Don't know but it's gonna be good !

Oh right! I forgot about Becky's father having Deals...that's a good point. Perhaps there is another faction than The Network at play...and yeah the Russian Flu vaccine thing is eerie...I mean they literally threaten to destroy Michael's life at every single turn to get the vaccine bought...and then threaten him further when he finds the loophole out of it...you just KNOW there's something bad about it. So, Grant was copying the book out right? That's what it looked like to me...and while we are on the subject, are we thinking the young girl he met is in on something? I mean when she first walked up to him I was like "Don't trust her kid!"

...and I think you're right about Fiona. LOL.

Last night's UTOPIA was really a solid one...

if only for the character building of Arby...who, if I'm honest, I didn't expect any character development from. It's kind of interesting that the little kid in the school triggered (VIA the candies he likes) his questioning of himself. I wonder if he's related to Jessica in some way. It wouldn't surprise me if Arby was actually Carvalo's son whom he experimented on. That was a gory ep though, lots of brains flying out of skulls. My gf actually looked at me and said "Man, this episode is GRUESOME.

Halfway through the series now, I'll be interested where the second half goes...still really enjoying!

Yep, another good episode that left more unanswered questions.

The first 5 mins were pretty hard to watch, as soon as I realised that Arby was in a school I started to fear the worst.....

I've also been wondering if Arby and Jessica are related, perhaps brother and sister ? They have both been either genetically modified or conditioned in some way a la Jason Bourne. Also Jessica mentioned the ex-military type who Looked after her as a child and was killed ? Did Stephen Rea's character play a similar role for Arby ? He did say he was the only person he could trust. Also why didn't Arby kill Jessica in the bathroom ? Did you catch him say " Where is Jessica Hyde?" as he was walking away ? Weird, he's starting to come apart I think. Also Arby eats raisins not candies, they are the same boxed brand I but my kids, well, the same brand I used to buy them Lol.

I really thought he was going to off Stephen Rhea. And Jessica continues to get weirder and weirder...I also like the cracks that are beginning to show on the average people who have been forced into these extraordinary things...especially Wilson Wilson and Becky.

I have a feeling that since there was no new trailer for next time that soemthing big happens in the 5th ep. Looking fwd to it!

Yeah, I'm actually really liking the direction the show went in. They could have stuck fast by the graphic novel as the mystery, but they really branched out and allowed it to organically be about so much more. The revelation that the reason Becky is in contact with them because she has a chance at having Deals and needs drugs from them to fend it off...really solid story point. The revelation that the Network are actually attempting to sterilize 90% of humanity to cull the population boom?! Wow. Didn't see that coming. And strangely enough it made curiously sound sense when Stephen Rhea was explaining it. What was up with Wilson letting him go and knifing himself...was that to lead the rest of the crew to believe that Stephen Rhea had killed him? Also, Michael....you actually called the cops?! REALLY? You JUST got some semblance of your life back and though your wife didn't forgive you for sleeping with a Russian prostitute she at least wants the baby....so what do you do afterwards? You RAT THE KID OUT?! Also, anyone else watching this think that the Network already sterilized Michael's wife a while back so they couldn't have kids, and led him to the prostitute on purpose? That's my guess. What a knob! Lastly, I LOVED Arby's progression here. We got so much of him talking and even navel gazing. Though I had a feeling he was Jessica's brother, it was good to see that come to light as they really are similarly fucked up. That scene where they stand by the tree where her guardian was murdered and Arby tells her he did it when he was 15...chilling. I'm very curous now...where is their mother...I bet she's Mr. Rabbit. Looking forward to next week's final S1 episode!

Welp, the Mrs and I, having our Sony Media Player functioning again (for now), streamed the first ep of DOWNTON ABBEY. OK, we're hooked.

PERSON OF INTEREST had been getting kinda boring of late, but last night's episode was fantastic. My favorite of the entire show, maybe.

Season finale of Utopia was fab if a little predictable. I'd already worked out who and what Jessica Hyde represented but it was done well. As for who "Mr Rabbit" was that again was done well and sets every thing up very nicely for a second season. All the main characters are still around (Wilson? Arby?) so it will be interesting to see in which direction they will take this, rescue, vendetta who knows.

Anyway very good show, best of the year so far.

I've been catching up with Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror series on Channel 4 and just watched the White Bear episode.

Holy crap I didn't see the ending coming and got increasingly horrified as it went along, right up to the end of the credits.

Morality, justice, punishment etc, these little critiques of modern society are fantastic and quite rightly award winning. I really enjoyed the last 3 he did, particularly the Facebook as real life one ( the name of which escapes me). White Bear was genuinely horrifying, on every level. Looking forward to tonight's one which at a glance looks like it has an internet meme running for parliament or something. Good stuff.

Watching episode 2 atm of this Utopia everyone is raving about. Its very good so far and very well shot. Colour me addicted and impressed.

So I just watched 3 Utopia back to back and it is very good. Alot of balls in the air and mystery yet I dont feel like im being strung along as I would if I was watching Lost/reading Blood and Bone.

Very good so far hopefully keeps getting better. I want to watch more but I have to be up at 6 for work. If there was only 2 left id probably do it but three is too many. Ill watch them tomorrow after work.

Watching a great black comedy called Hunderby.

So well written, if you haven't seen this yet check it out. Kind of like a Jane Austin period drama crossed with League of Gentlemen. Julia Davis is so good at this stuff, if you've seen Nighty Night you know what to expect.

Finished Season 1 of DOWNTON ABBEY. (Side note: if you really want to watch you're cultured friends cringe, pronounce it DOWNTOWN ABBEY. Preferably too loud and with a trailer-trash accent.) But of course, Netflix doesn't have Season 2, due to some dispute over money. So we gotta switch to streaming from Amazon.

Meanwhile, also caught the first four eps of HOUSE OF CARDS. I don't know if I have a David Fincher allergy, or what, but just do not like it.
