Been binging EVEN STEVENS on D+....I've never seen it, and I know it's where Shia got his start...it's very Saved By The Bell-ish....overtly hokey, but I'm still enjoying it as some wallpaper to have on and not take too seriously.

It gets better as it goes.

- What is the difference between Mandalorians and Midi-chlorians?

A mandalorian is a small guitar, like a mandolin but with doors that open upwards.

A midi-chlorian is a cocktail popular at lunchtime in certain parts of France and former French colonies like Nevada and Scotland.

Fascinating.

Ok, another query. What is a 'force ghost'?

It's a slang term for 'forcing' your partner to watch the 1990 paranormal romantic murder comedy drama starring Demi Moore, Whoopie Goldberg, and the late Patrick Swayze.

A Christmas Carol (miniseries) on FX channel begins airing in December. I'm kind of excited to see what this is like and if it is any good.

A trailer for this. This could either be brilliant or a roaring bonfire of discarded Christmas trees. The trailer has dampened my expectations. I'm still going to check out the first couple episodes (unless it's complete shite).

The latest episode of The Good Place - S04E09 "The Answer" - absolutely nails it.

How do they stay so damn good across 4 seasons, and still have episodes like that which are somehow even better?
Is it lightning in a (very big) bottle or can these writers do it again? I might track down other stuff they've done.

Well, Michael Schur was the creator. He was a writer on The Office and co-creator on Parks and Rec.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Another list:

10 Insane TV Episodes From the 2010s We'll Be Talking About Forever

Of the top 3, I've seen the the Nathan for You episode and the Atlanta episode. And they are both bonkers. The Atlanta episode is freaky AF. Definitely worth seeking out. I haven't seen season 2 of Fleabag yet, but I'm sure that episode is deserving of the top spot.

Atlanta is a brilliant show, and Nathan for You, well, it defies description, but is brilliant also.

Was going to say he's pretty immense. Fairly sure he's got his hands on B99 as well (or has Dan Goor been involved in these others? I forget but there is definitely a link IIRC...)

It's more than Schur. The entire writing staff of that show is superb and that spills over to the cast, who trusts the writers while knowing that they can give feedback occasionally.

Schur created a big part of it, but he's very clear in his interviews that this evolved due to the many great people on the writing team, who've pushed him to change many things.

The Wire is definitely in the discussion of all time greats, and if that list included the 2000s I'm sure an episode or two would be on it. Some bonkers episodes I recall (been a while since viewing The Wire), would most definitely be one with Omar or Snoop. Shit was craycray.

What? Why?

The 2 eps I’ve watched were really good I thought esp ep2.

I find the personal conflicts are just tamer versions of the first two seasons and the remaining plots are political ploys depicted by people talking harshly or standing around looking serious, none particularly interesting to watch.

Spoiler

The energy and conflict from S1 and 2 is missing. Everyone is very staid and proper and boring. So far, anyways.

I got more entertainment from JACK RYAN s2 ep 1... tho it boggles my mind why any pretend government agency bothers with the heavily guarded convoy of black SUVs anymore.

All caught up on Blue Bloods. I wonder how many more seasons this show has. I use to look forward to Jamie scenes the most, they've been pretty flat. I've noticed that this show out of all the others that my wife and I watch together, this is the one where we both end up playing with our phones and just waiting fro something good to happen in the show.

We've got a couple of episodes of Bluff City Law to watch, and then it is on to Jack Ryan.

Has anyone been watching Stumptown or Treadstone?

^ I wouldn't mind watching the Aberfan episode as I used to work there. It's still pretty haunted by the tragedy, to be expected of course... Not seen much of The Crown as I couldn't really get into it and I really wanted to love it. But I might watch that one episode...
