So, as this decade is coming to a close, the 'best of the decade' lists are starting to appear.

Here's one for Television. I'm sure there will be others.

The 25 Best Shows of the Decade

Another decade list. This one includes shows that started during the aughts and carried on into the 2010s (e.g. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, 30 Rock)

Probably a good thing. It's just too toxic of a property right now given how GoT went down and how people are still butt-hurt/gnashing their teeth over it. Let about half a decade pass and then revisit this and make a determination at that time whether to forge ahead.

They'll still do something GoT related eventually.

You don't know how right you are! HBO just ordered 10 episodes of a prequel series called House of the Dragon about the Targaryens: https://deadline.com/2019/10/game-of-thrones-new-series-house-of-the-dragons-targaryen-hbo-max-greenlight-1202771886/

It's confusing to me, due to when/where it was announced, whether this is for HBO Max (which is what they're calling Warner Brother's subscription streaming service for some reason) or HBO itself, but I'm guessing the latter.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Tartakovsky's PRIMAL.

Holy fucking dinofuck, this cartoon is INSANE. The first two eps have just enough character building amidst the 22min of The Adventures of Mini-T-Rex and Neanderthal The Barbarian, ep 3 keeps the character beats going but ups the action, and 4 is essentially one long utterly mad action scene i had to watch again while i was watching it. And then again. I have not watched ep5 yet because of how many times i had to rewatch parts of 4 last night.

And the style... i haven't seen anything this ambitious since some of the original HEAVY METAL stuff and more recently the Netflix Robots anthology. There is no dialogue. none. grunting and roaring and screaming, yes, but zero actual words. The soundtrack is perfect, it properls you through the action.. and the action.... fuck me like a vegan chicken pot pie...

Spoiler

Also impressive, not just how cleverly the animation uses the two leads' expressions to convey emotion, but how sparsely they use that trick and trust the viewer to figure it out instead of giving a dinosaur human expressions or making a caveman emote.

Worth a look if you don't mind your cartoons bloody.

Waiting till it's done airing to devour in one fell swoop, but glad to hear it's solid.

I'm two episodes in and am utterly blown away by how excellent it is. Well worth seeking out.

Damn Blue Bloods totally on fire this season!! Hitting all the right notes.

I've been recording them. The wife and I are working our way through Pearson and will then jump over to Blue Bloods.

To be fair...

I think they release their seasons every 6 months or so. Hopefully we'll have something in the spring.
