The IT Crowd really caught me and now I love it. My local PBS station has started airing season 2.

I think I really got on board when the guy behind the red door was revealed. He's really into the one of the best contemporary dark wave bands: Cradle of Filth. That and any time the head boss wanders into the scene, you know something absurd is going down.

It's not literally a cradle of filth?

ewww, no. That would be horrible.

Yeah Noel Fielding is hilarious. That show is one of my all time favourites!

I love the dinner party episode...."oh bloody hell, I think this is my one."

Since there is a bit of a lull in the programmes I'm watching at the moment, was looking about and came across the synopsis of the tv show, QUARRY. sounds interesting enough and seems to have good reviews on imdv.

Anyone here watch it. Is it worth watching the first season?

Yes. Very gritty! Awesome show.

Of course a quarry would be gritty. :(

GAHHH!!! That ending on Terrance House is killing me! Going to be a long wait for next batch. Idk about you and the ole lady QT but I enjoyed this 3rd batch of 8 so much more then past 2.

I really wish more of y'all would check this Japanese reality show out. The culture difference alone ought to entertain enough itself to look past the "reality show" aspect.

We are about half way through the 3rd selection of eps, and yeah it's really damned good. Arman and Martha showing up was ACE! Though we had expected it since Arman lives in Hawaii. Also, Taishi is a friggin DICK. I loved the ep where after Taishi sneak attacked Yuya as being lazy, but Guy then stared him the fuck down at the dinner table later and essentially asked him why it was any of his goddamn business what Yuya does or not. Awesome. I also like that Taishi loves Nikki off...after shining Anna...only to have Nikki seemingly be into Guy. Perfect! Did I mention I HATE Taishi? LOL

I agree with BK, this show is intensely watchable without being in-your-face like other reality shows.

i wonder where they will shift the show after Hawaii? Probably back to Japan somewhere.

Hell, I want the first 5 seasons (the ones they did before BOYS & GIRLS IN THE CITY came on Netflix) to become available to us to binge.

Who is your fave Peanut Gallery person? The Mrs. and I both think Yamasato is the best because he's always SO funny.

Oh, and check this out. There is this REALLY bleak ass movie (it's VERY good tho) called NOBODY KNOWS...it's a true story about a young kid who has to try to look after his whole family of siblings after his partying, layabout mother leaves them...and the mother is played by Yu!

I realise I'm late to the party, but if anyone else out there has Netflix and doesn't know the genre codes, here's a list:

That seems cool. I'm surprised by the number of hits the searches are generating? Are there really tens of thousands of films on American Netflix? Or is it pooling shows and films together?

When I've searched through the Danish Netflix archive it seems like there are never more than a few hundred films to chose between.

I guess so, but I only have Australian Netflix so I am similarly constrained. Still, it's better than NOT having it.

Never, ever going back to only free-to-air TV again. *shudder*

Who is Terrance, and why are all these people in his house?

BK has an interesting typing impediment, where he randomly adds the letter "N" to make new words. :(

I'm guessing it's an autocorrect from "Terrace" on his phone?

LOL, we can go with your theory if you like. At least till BK shows up and tells us the real reason.

Continuing my watch through of Sopranos. I'm now midway into Season 4.

I really like this show but I think if I'd been following the show as a weekly affair, I'd have dropped the show by now. It's very well crafted, I love the incremental evolution of the characters as the show progresses. However it's also sort of... slow, or something?

Like Breaking Bad, I feel like the show needs a bit more mobster infighting and a bit less "My teenage kids are assholes". One can only watch so many episodes about Tony Soprano having an affair or walking around eating snacks before one hopes his car explodes.

Still I love the characters. I find myself laughing at their little quirks, the small jabs they make at one another, the absurdity of their lives. That episode where Christopher and Silvio are stuck in the woods in the winter because they got lost had me in stitches. It was played seriously but they two characters frustration and fear was excellently directed.

One of the coolest things about The Sopranos is that the final season is actually the best.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Now this is the kind of comment that will make me binge watch 15 episodes just to get to the final season.

Except from all I've heard, the finale itself is garbagio, so YMMV.

I heard bits and pieces over the years, something about the whole thing being a dream, or something about Tony maybe getting clipped or not. The show leaves it ambiguous or something like that.

Don't say anything, I'll know by the end of the week.

EDIT: By the way, the finale of Season 4 is turning out to be a bit of a doozey. Carmella finally had enough of Tony's fucking around on the side.
